Description of MoleculeGo

MoleculeGo is a location based app that gamifies the process of learning about molecular biology. In this game, the player collects amino acids, ATP, and DNA sequences, the molecular building blocks used to synthesize proteins. By capturing DNA sequences, the player discovers genes that encode for proteins. These genes provide the user with the necessary "recipe" to synthesize proteins in their own lab, using amino acids and ATP. These proteins can then be combined to construct even larger protein complexes. As the player progresses in the game, new molecules become available and information will become available about each molecule's basic function and how its structure is associated with its molecular role. Players can visit hotspots (schools, parks, hospitals, universities, etc.) to accelerate the discovery of new molecules. While molecules are discovered, players can learn how they are involved in disease, biomedical applications, research, and their function in the cell.

  • Is not working!

After installing app, we get the welcome page but then when it gets to the Be Aware of your Surroundings page the app locks up and nothing further can be done. I uninstalled app and reinstalled. Same result. Please help!
  • Still more fun than most learning games

But it's kinda unfinished; there are conflicting alerts and mislabeled tabs ("pathways" would be a good idea if it had any recipes, and unlocked genes don't show you the products) It's still fun with all of that, but crafting has some frustrating bugs like how you can stack proteins and the extras disappear. (I was playing around with it and I unexpectedly got 2 antibody stalks + alpha helix = leucine zipper) and that kind of discourages experimenting with recipes. Enzymes also get used up instead of upgrading you, and sometimes you can translate a gene by using ATP without amino acids. If you press synthesize without anything in the crafter, you get the last discovered molecule
  • amazing game

i love this game i cant stop playing
