Great App and Great Customer Service

I found the practice problems really helpful for studying for the mcat and for content review. I ended up contacting Saso from customer service for a question about my account and they responded quickly, kindly and knowledgeable in their responses. I would highly recommend using this app and upgrading your subscription to create and practice using your own flashcards to review the questions you got wrong. Good luck to any future students taking the mcat!

Great for on the go learning

I have used both the free version and the highest paying version of this app. I have a busy schedule as a full-time employee at a cafe and a part-time student. Studying for the MCAT with KOTC at work, after I wake up, or right before bed makes MCAT studying so much easier. It takes away a lot of my stress of having to find time to pull out ALL of the prep books and set everything up just for 30-45 minutes of studying, based on how much of a break I can get from work. I liked the free version but I LOVE the paid version. It really just depends on how much you want out of it, and whether this is your primary mode of studying. Unfortunately, we live in a reality where almost all MCAT resources cost money (A LOT OF MONEY); however, I think KOTC is actually a pretty valuable resource for on the go learning.

The best mobile MCAT app

If you’re pre-med or a mother/father of one, I’m sure that you’ve seen this app on an Instagram advertisement. I highly recommend this app due to two factors. 1. Accessibility. We are all guilty of over-scrolling (me included). Since downloading the app, I’ve been more productive with answering my daily questions/passages, and following the timeline for specific modules (Biochem, Gen Chem, Orgo, etc). 2. Content. The content is very important when it comes to what it’s important on the MCAT. I believe if you continue to use this app, you too will see an easier time when taking practice exams or questions for the MCAT. Good luck!

Very Good Resource and Affordable!

KOTC provides many many resources and caters very nicely to the need of the students. From free to premium options there is something for every student to use. KOTC is also very convenient since you can do practice questions from anywhere you have your phone. In addition, it is a very affordable option whereas other mcat companies could charge thousands of dollars. I can’t wait to see my growth using this app and get the help I need at an affordable price!

good resource on the go

I’m a year away from finishing undergrad and starting my gap year(s) and when it comes to test prep I seriously don’t know where to start sometimes. I feel like this app has made it less overwhelming and more fun to study for such a huge test. As a full time student with two jobs, the app is really convenient to use on the go. Of course it’s not my only resource for prep but its the most fun. I’ve always hated using flashcards but I like how they turn them into a game. I also like the roadmap feature for each subject. Everything on this app has made MCAT prep feel more achievable and less daunting.

Refund

I am extremely disappointed with the King of the Curve app. The first couple videos I watched had no audio. When I contacted customer service, they acknowledged the issue but refused to give me a refund. I explained that the app was not worth the amount I had paid if more videos were going to have no audio. There was no resolution with the person I was in contact and never had a follow up.

In response, I contacted another person in Customer Service who informed me that one of the videos was not supposed to have audio. This is baffling—how can I learn anything if I’m just watching someone write without any explanation. A simple picture would suffice. This app fails to deliver it on its promise, and the lack of proper support and resolution is frustrating. I do not recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, educational tool, especially for individuals who are serious about studying for the MCAT.

Seriously the best of the best (512 scorer)

I’ve used UWORLD, AAMC material (the golden standard) and truly think this app needs to be added to the rotation for everyone. Quick and easy to jump into if you have a few minutes here and there throughout the day, but also has passages more in depth material you can dive into.

The adaptive question bank saved me! It identifies your weaknesses and reintroduces the topics periodically them until you get right.
Highly highly recommend!

Bad app, scams users.

I have been using the daily questions to lightly prepare myself for the MCAT. Aside from the occasional incorrect answers, the daily review was good enough for me. I wanted to see what more the app had to offer, so I bought the “MCAT Master” premium subscription, which was a terrible mistake. The app doesn’t even acknowledge that you purchased a subscription, and continues to keep you from using any of the premium material. I tried using the restore purchases button, but all it does is immediately crash the app. I tried to bring up this issue in the feedback section within the app, but the submit button for feedback doesn’t do anything. I’m honestly really disappointed and I feel as if I was just scammed. I will be disputing this with my bank.
