  • Almost perfect

I love all the games available on this app. I also love no ads🙌🏼 thank you. These are the things I would fix if I could.
I’d love to be able to arrange my own cards in Gin. Sometimes they place cards in a set instead of the run I wish to put them in. Also the scoring seems to always be off in spades after the first round is played. It shows your score given to the opponents or it shows you and your partner on different teams. It’s a bit confusing but always corrected by the end of the game. The problem I’m finding is so many players leave the game after the first round forfeiting. I believe they do this because they see the score is wrong.

Hi aceparlet. We're glad to hear you enjoy the games and the ad-free experience. Thanks for the suggestions! Starting from update 1.22.10 the Spades scoreboard issue is resolved. Kind Regards, Card Games by Bicycle Dev Team.
  • Forfeits; Bag Penalties; Ranked Play; Scoring, Stats, Invites

****Players when losing forfeit resulting in everyone getting 1 point or zero points.****Bags don’t mean anything since it’s the best 3 out of 4. Should be the first to 250 so bags are a factor. ****Should have negative points for not making bids. ****Ranked players gain 1 point for beating Unranked players but risk losing 15 points if they lose. Award 5 points for beating unranked players to make it worth a ranked player’s time. ****Can’t follow the score after each hand. The points are switched for each team and you can’t view the overall score / bags.*****Helpful to provide player stats such as: % of successful Nils, win percentage, average number of bags, quit percentage.*****Players in the queue should be able to invite friends to fill open slots.

Hi, sorry to hear. We’ve been attempting to detect and punish cheaters that quit on purpose (by e.g. toggling the device to Airplane mode during games). Starting from version 1.22.7 all players that disconnect, for any reason, during a public game while a leaderboard season is active will receive a rating penalty. Kind Regards, The Bicycle Team
  • Scores being applied to the wrong teams

Is anyone else experiencing an issue with scores in Spades being assigned to the wrong team at the end of each round? I have noticed that over the last two days the scoring is swapped! After each hand, the points are bing accumulated to the opposite team and vice verse. Kind of a big deal.. lol.
I thought I was mistaken when it happened yesterday, but it’s happened each time I’ve played!
Other than this bug, I do love the app! However, I agree with the other reviewers about the players who are intentionally forfeiting when they don’t like the hand they are dealt, or if they aren’t winning the round. It’s disruptive and kills my desire to play. There should be a penalty for forfeiting a game. And if they lose signal or reception, well that’s the nature of the game. I think we all can live with that policy being as the ladder scenario is far more inconvenient and highly common.

Thanks for reaching out. Starting from update 1.22.10 the Spades scoreboard issue has been fixed. Luckily it was a purely visual bug and all users still received their correct ratings on the leaderboards. Kind regards, Bicyclecards.com Customer Support.
  • 5 stars * updated again*

Overall the app is great however, ever since they took away the penalty for quitting a game early. Now once certain people start to lose they quit the game to protect their ranks. If they bring back that penalty and hold people accountable this will easily be a 5 star app.

Update: The app has been updated and people are still quitting (I’m guessing because they aren’t losing any points for quitting) but I’m at least getting my points so that’s a positive. I appreciate that they have attempted to resolve the problem.

Update: I love that there is now a rating penalty for people that quit. I can now give it all 5 stars!

  • Frustrated - new issues

I’ve loved playing this game until recently. Now people drop so that you don’t impact their rankings when you’re winning and twice now I’ve won a hand with Big Gin but then the opponent lays off their one or two remaining cards and the System rewards them with an undercut even though I knocked first. Never played with those rules before I just want consistency in the rules, and I want other players to be good sports and not manipulate the rankings.
Update- Love that they fix the issue with people quitting in order to maintain their points, but now I am not getting or losing points when I play. yesterday after several games of gin rummy there was no change to my rating at all. What’s up with that?

Hi, sorry about that! We’ve been attempting to detect and punish cheaters that quit on purpose (by e.g. toggling the device to Airplane mode during games). Starting from version 1.22.7 all players that disconnect, for any reason, during a public game while a leaderboard season is active will receive a rating penalty. Currently the leaderboards are in cooldown and all ratings are locked. Soon the new season will start and the climb to the top can resume. You can view the in-app leaderboards for more information. • Terrible bots, constant glitches, but fun nonetheless.

First of all, it’s great being able to play card games with actual people. However, the app is severely lacking in several areas.

The bots are terribly programmed. Have fun bidding nil in Spades, the bot will throw its highest spades to cover you in a different suit, rather than its lowest.

The game constantly glitches as well. Right now, at least in Spades, it shows the other team’s score under your teams name, but it doesn’t always happen. So, in close games, it is very easy to lose because your see the wrong score and bid incorrectly.

Forfeiting, or force writing the app to get away with forfeiting is prevalent, with next to no penalty.

There should also be a way to report players for certain behavior. I’ve had to forfeit multiple times to get out of playing with a person who is intentionally trying to sabotage our score (like bidding nil with the Ace of Spades; or bidding 13 with a terrible hand, forcing you to bid nil and lose 100 points).

If they could fix these issues, it would be the greatest card playing app there is.

  • Gin rummy

I played 10 games today IN A ROW. I’m ranked top 25. I lost all of them to players with lower rankings then me. Every game i played, hardly any of them picked up the card i discarded. I think that however the program is set up, it’s set up so higher ranking players lose to lower and it helps those players gain. Once i reached no. 25+ i started losing every game. People would knock in first 2 cards drawn. I understand why some top leaderboard players would quit right away. It’s almost as if the system knows you’re a lower rank level so they give you the exact cards you’re looking for. And i’m not bad at gin. Call me unlucky but seems a bit twisted i can’t win ONE game out of 10. Also, since when was a “BIG” gin a thing? i lost a game because someone had a big gin and scored 50 on me on the last hand.

  • Needs work

Great app with excellent user interface and classic card games which can be played either against a bot or in a public lobby. The problem is that the platform crashes regularly, day and night, for no apparent reason. The system either goes straight to a failure page (“Oops! Something has gone wrong.”), or else it freezes in mid-game and locks everything until players have to abandon the game. The “Oops! Page” advises to contact support, but there is no link anywhere in the game to do so. In addition, the system kicks you out of a game if you fail to play within 14 seconds, and you cannot regain your game status, whether in either a bot games or a real game. Most annoying is that the system allows players to abandon a game at any time without penalty. The minute someone realizes they are losing, they bail out of the game and leave all of the other players in the lurch. Can’t there be a penalty assigned to a player when this happens, e.g. a 10 point reduction in their overall ranking score? On average, I can complete only about 2 games out of 10 because of this problem. Come on, Bicycle! I’ve owned every software and app package you have ever put on the market, and this one leaves a lot to be desired. A little help, please?!?

  • Not hearing us!

There are people who are playing gin don’t like to to lose. High ranking players in the top 20 are leaving the game because they don’t want to lose. I believe people are frustrated and will do the same thing to leave the game because they’re losing. I don’t understand why you have a ranking system where you don’t have rules, and how does your point system works? Is anybody out there hearing me??? This is a great game. This is a great app. People like this app. A response would be nice. Update July 22, 2024 Again, You have to penalize the people who decide to lead the game when they’re losing. What’s the sense of having leaderboard when everybody’s leaving ship and not playing the game. I know it’s only a game and it’s for free for now but it’s taking away the pleasure of playing. And to be all fair I had played with players who get gypped because you only play three hands instead of four they’re not getting the fair shake either. It’s still a great game and I’m sure you guys knows what’s going on and you probably will fix the problem when the next version comes around.

  • Good but unfair in many ways

I really enjoy playing the games for the most part, but it’s frustrating to play with players that sabotage your ranking. For instance, I have been playing hearts consistently with strangers and every time I am about to win in the fourth round one player forfeits the game. This has happened back to back with different players. I don’t know if forfeiting makes them lose ranking points but it DOES however, make it so that I don’t GAIN the points I would have gained had the game completed and I won. So I’ve been stuck unable to raise my ranking very much. I would think that if a player forfeits the other players should get points. That way I don’t have to rely on other players playing fair and through to the end.
