Keeps shutting down

Every time I click on it to try to get into the app it shuts down.

Excellent app

This is a great trip planner. It makes the task of planning road trips so much easier and it’s a lot better than the alternatives (I have tried them all). It would be great if a future update added an option to localise it to British or International English (not everyone refers to “gas”). Also, it would be really helpful to be able to record arrival and departure dates at stops and see the total duration of a trip.

Great trip planner, needs a few extras for RV travellers

I love the interface. Very easy to use and can search for just about anything I type into the map search. The smart insert feature is also great when adding a new point to your route in the middle. It gives you estimated miles and times between your points so you know how long/far you will be traveling any leg. Your can save trip routes for planning more than one trip at a time (2 in free version, infinite in purchased version).
As I pull a travel trailer (RV) for my trips, there are a few things I would like to see added and be able to test in the free version before I purchase the upgrade.
1- allow specs of my travel trailer (length, height, weight, propane on board) to be entered so the app can map around any low clearance bridges, weight limited roads, propane limited tunnels, hairpin turns, etc. to be sure the road mapped is safe for travel with my RV.
2- ability to identify specified miles and/or time travel down a route so that a campground/stay search can be done in that area. Currently, I take a guess by sight, add a random stay point to the route and see how long/far it takes to get there. If wrong, remove point, guess further up or back and repeat until my miles/time is close to what I want to travel in a leg. It’s functional but could be made much easier if the app can just pin a point in the route at how far/long you want to travel as an option.

With these 2 functionality adds, this app would be worth purchasing for me.

It took a little bit to work out how to make it work properly but I have it sorted and have upgraded to the full version.

Another not-truly-free app

I hate that so many apps these days say they’re free but once you start trying to maneuver around the app, you find out you can’t do much of anything without paying some monthly or annual fee.

You can create a trip, search for places, add places to your trip, star places for the future and much more. Unfortunately we cannot offer everything for free since developing an app takes a lot of time and work and costs us money too. Please let us know which functions you miss in the free version. Does not recognize roads….Updated

After paying for the app, as the free version would not allow me to complete my trip, I found it kept rerouting me to roads I did not want to travel on. Would not allow me to select the road I wanted. It is like a section of the road did not exist even though it shows the road on the map. I attempted to use the Contact Us (send an email) and it does not work. Fortunately they only got one months worth of payment out of me. The trip I am planning is on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Once you purchase the app they provide a sample trip of the Blue Ridge Parkway and it is jacked up too.

Update: after contacting the developer they did a great job of explaining the issue and provide a resolution. Response from developer was fast and professional. I will continue to use the app for my upcoming trips.

Free version useless

When I opened the app, it grabbed a location near me from GPS and made it my home location. When I attempted to change it to my actual address, I was prompted to upgrade to the full version to be able to do so. Really? How are you supposed to plan a trip without setting a starting point?

Failure to be able to change even the most basic information without paying for the full version renders the app unusable to me. I can understand that adding locations, or notes, would require an update to the full version, but preventing a user from setting up a basic profile is pretty unforgivable. Deleting this app immediately!

Hi, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am sorry that you are disappointed in the app and that it does not meet your expectations. If I understand you correctly, you wanted to save your current location as one of your starred places? Is that correct? I guess there was some confusion about how you do that. You can enter your address in the search bar and add it from there as your home address or as one of your stops. And of course that is included in the free version! Please feel free to tell us more about what your expectation was and what made you think that you needed to upgrade for it. Just write an email to support@getroadie.app

Unsatisfied - not user friendly

This is not a very good user friendly app and I wish I had never purchased it!!!! Sad :-(

Road Trip Saver

Was trying to plan a road trip from Illinois - Oregon - California - Oregon - Illinois and this app was just perfect for giving us the ability to plan out stops for fuel, find great rest stops along the way and even some crazy attractions.
I would recommend this app to anyone who is wanting to plan any kind of road trip. On my trip back to Illinois, I was able to follow Rte 66 and see all of the attractions that I have been wanting to go see.
The only thing that I had to watch out for was when finding the next stop on my route was that the ‘Smart Add’ feature sometimes inserted the stop in the wrong place so it had me going backwards at a couple of points. But other than that, this is a great app. Thanks for making it happen.
