The Venus of Dolní Věstonice is a Venus figurine, a ceramic statuette of a nude female figure dated to 29,000–25,000 BCE (Gravettian industry). This figurine, along with several others from nearby sites, is one of the oldest known ceramic statuettes in the world. You can see it in the History Building.

You can find a fossilized stem of Cooksonia barrandei in the exhibition Windows to Prehistory. The fossil was found more than a hundred and fifty years ago by the French paleontologist Joachim Barrande. Until 2011, however, it escaped the attention of paleontologists in the depository because it was mistaken for an alga. It is, however, one of the oldest macroscopic fossils of vascular plants. It is approximately 432 million years old.

One of the most valuable minerals in the collections is Proustite, measuring 17 × 14 × 11 centimetres. It was found in the Svornost mine near Jáchymov and became part of the collections of the National Museum in 1820, shortly after its foundation. It is also exceptional in that the museum received it as a gift from Emperor Francis I himself. You can find it in the exhibition Windows to Prehistory.

The Archbishop's carriage, made between 1770 and 1780, was to be confiscated and melted down as a war tax. In order to ensure that this work of art was not destroyed, Archbishop Florentin of Salm-Salm paid 50,000 guilders to save it. You can see it in the exhibition History.

You can find a horoscope in the long-term exhibition History in which, day after day, the prognosis for ten years (1628-1638) according to the position of the stars is elaborated. It was made for Albrecht von Wallenstein and is probably the most extensive astrological work of its time.
