  • Ok app, but room for improvement.

Going to a post directly from a push notification usually doesn’t work at all. You get a blank screen and nothing happens at all. Seems like something obvious that the development team should have caught.

Also, 3.99 per month to enable dark mode? For a feature that does not require any extra compute or infrastructure on your end to support? Absolutely not. Please rethink the paid features, otherwise it just seems like a pointless cash grab. I’m not against a monthly or annual fee in principle, but limit it to things that actually cost you money, not for cosmetic changes that require no extra bandwidth or server capacity to implement and support.

This is an excellent tool to communicate and inform and should be used as such. There are a handful of individuals on here who need to use common sense when posting their thoughts, for they need to understand they can harm people with their words. However, common sense is not common. I feel some guidelines could be helpful for all. Let’s use this tool to build rather than tear down.

  • Still issues.

Latest update doesn’t address the ability to see referral history, proper community points count and some users within the same neighborhood are missing from community chats.

No longer showing links to social media or websites as before.

Need a simplified experience with building chat vs community chat. Also community needs to be defined as friends living in neighborhood in a different borough are visible, but friends living within walking distance showing a different community and cannot participate in neighborhood chat.

Hi dearmrjack, We just released a new version to help with the clarity between the 'nearby function' and 'my building'. We hope this helps :) If you have any further comments please do not hesitate to reach out to us at support@oneroofapp.com.
  • Okay App, No Search Function

Have been using the app since moving into my 55 floor building two years ago. I’ve appreciated a lot of the updates and the user interface changes they’ve made over the last couple of years. One feature I wish they would update is to be able to search or find prior messages based on keywords.

We have 800 units and 1000+ people in my building, so there are tons of messages that come through our channels. There needs to be a way to search based on keywords in each channel to find prior messages

  • New version whiplash

The concept of the app is great and it’s also been super easy to use. Very much appreciate that the company behind it is constantly looking to improve the app but every version is completely different from the last. Previous versions were 5 stars but this newest one is such a huge step back that reviewing the disappointment was a must. Rather than simplifying, this version adds more complexity and more pages to sort through to figure out where a notification came from. Instead of having everything all in one page, you have to search and sort through multiple app pages. You can’t mute notifications even when ‘that business’ keeps on sending the same exact ad week after week or if you’re not interested in a certain topic. Most if not all of these complaints weren’t an issue in earlier versions. Developers please, if it’s ain’t broke don’t keep rebuilding something that worked into a Frankenstein version of what made it so popular in the first place. Versioning is causing whiplash but hoping the next one reverts the app back to what it was good at doing - connecting people in an easy way.

  • New user interface is HORRIBLE

Hi all, this app used to be wonderful when it first came out but recently they change the user interface and now it is very confusing to navigate and looks totally different. Also the conversation section is too small and we’re all looking at it on these tiny phones— makes me think the app developers were doing this on a computer screen and not realizing how tiny uncomfortable and inconvenient it would be for us to look at. I literally feel like I’m straining my eyes when I use this app and I’m only in my 30s— imagine how horrible it is for the older adults! Also I was totally confused when they randomly added a chat for the whole neighborhood. They should have asked us if we want to opt in instead of just automatically adding everyone I was totally confused by it. The app also does not feel as safe and personal now that it’s more similar to social network as opposed to a private conversation between people in the same building. The user interface is so confusing and awful that I have basically stopped using the app unless somebody sends me a message in which case I struggle to find it and read it between all these confusing sections. Please change the app back to the old display

Hi Meeeeeeeeee000000, We apologize that the new UX is not working out as well for you. We just released a new update that brought back the ability for neighbors to make their own groups - either building or nearby (5 min walk) wide. I am also alerting our developers about the font size on the app. In regards to chat groups, there is the function to speak in just your building or nearby. Those in nearby will not see messages in your private building chat. Please let us know if there are any other issues at support@oneroofapp.com
  • Cool concept but feels artificial

I personally prefer the old, simplified version of this app. The new version is very ambitious and I can see what the devs are going for, but the interface is too overwhelming. Why does a neighborhood app need points and a meaningless tier system? I feel like the app is constantly trying to get me to invite more users to join. I understand that the experience improves with more users, but I'm hesitant to share such a spammy app with friends and neighbors. Sponsored events should be clearly labeled as such. I've seen one in my neighborhood that posed as a grassroots gathering and it just seemed kind of creepy to me. My building is not active on its chat, so I currently don't have much incentive to use this app.

Hi gvhstw, Thank you for taking the time to leave us this feedback. We have just released a new version to clear up the UX and also reduce the amount of 'invite a neighbor' notifications. We would love to hear if your experience has changed with these updates. Best, OneRoof team
  • New design is not user friendly

I liked this app when it first came out. The groups were great for all different hobbies. With the new design- All the groups are archived and I can’t see new content or new events in the different categories. The “point” system is pretty useless- the focus should be to get to know your neighbors and attend events together. No longer an option on my version

  • The version before the Shires disaster was best

This is actually a horrible app now. What on earth would possess you to add a "neighborhood" app based on distance?? Aside from the fact that literally nobody wanted this, the people who are 5 miles from me are not necessarily 5 miles from other people in the group, so you see people's responding to ghost conversations because those other people aren't close enough to me. With the NEWest update, the app is impossible to use and so confusing. I have no chats for my building now, and only the option to "create a group" which means SCROLLING THROUGH EVERY PERSON WITHIN 5 MILES OF ME AND MANUALLY SELECTING EVERY SINGLE RESIDENT OF MY BUILDING. I introduced this app to my building to foster a community and all its done is confuse and alienate people and embarrass me at this point. I will definitely be finding a new app because this developer has proved that they have no idea what they're doing or who their audience is. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!!

Hi Alixthecat13, We're sorry to hear you are not enjoying the new Shire feature. We currently are working on a new UX design for the app, and hope to clear everything up as soon as possible to make it more clear for the neighbors using it. We hope the upcoming changes will help with what was said above. In regards to the buy/sell chat room disappearing, please email support@oneroofapp.com so we can gather your account info, and look into this issue.
