  • A lot of potential

Edit—I like this app less and less the longer I use it. A simple search for common drinks like “paper plane” or “Jungle Bird” produces no results. Add that to the fact that the unit of measurement STILL changes every time you make a drink and this is becoming pretty useless and frustrating.

I like this app; it could be so much better. It probably will be with time. I love that you can change the measure for whatever you use (ml, oz, whatever). But you have to change it EVERY time. There is no preference you can set to make the measure you use the default. The search function is oddly difficult to use; I find the best way to browse is going into my account and looking at what I’ve favorited via the website.

  • Ads and wrong drinks ruin the app

Between the CONSTANT ads and the drinks it suggests with ingredients I don’t have anything close to, the app is essentially a write off.
  • Good Premise

But! It’s too picking on ingredients. If you have added Gin to your bar but not London Gin or Dry Gin etc you’ll only be shown the Gin recipes and not the London or Dry. There’s no need to be so specific.
  • This app has everything i was looking for!

Firstly - I don’t often write reviews, and this one is unsolicited! After googling for weeks, words like “cocktails using X and Y” and getting unhelpful results, most containing ingredients I didn’t have, I decided to try find an app. I initially chose this because of the rating and I’m so glad I did. The way you can add your ingredients, and then be shown ideas using ONLY WHAT YOU HAVE is everything I was looking for, but it doesn’t end there. The suggestions for swapping ingredients is so great. I could go on and on but honestly - this app is just the greatest - I’m obsessed. Oh - and don’t be cheap - pay $1.99 to remove the ads and you won’t look back :) (PS - when building your bar, don’t forget to add things like salt, vanilla essence etc etc!)

  • odd measurement conversions listed ounces

this app has a lot of potential and I’m struggling between 2 and 3 stars bc it’s unusable for me atm but with some simple fixes it would easily take off in popularity and rating so I’m going to rate it a 3!

prob most annoying is the fact that every time you search for a drink you are forced to re-adjust the measurement unit (always initializes in ml). for gods sake please try creating a user side constant or try assigning with ‘this.’ try something though it really shouldn’t be that difficult to fix this :(

also I don’t know any bartenders that are measuring in 1/3oz and 2/3oz increments which is what the app seems to like to suggest. most of us use a 4 count free hand pour system where counting to 1 = 1/4 oz and so fourth moving up in 1/4 increments on each count of the pour. maybe just call a function that is designed to adjust ingredients to the 1/4oz scale while maintaining recipe ratios and/or adjusting certain ingredients up or down based on their type - liquor vs liqueur vs syrup/juice etc. I’m not sure how the conversion is taking place but it should be able to be adjusted at the same level/place at least.

hope development still underway and things improve in the future!

  • Much potential

App has so much potential to be better but falls short, I will say it is the best I have used but needs a lot of improvement. Adding unique cocktails and new ingredients is a pain and I can’t seem to do it through the app only through browser. So much could be done with this.
  • Has potential, but ultimately fails

I’ve been looking for an app that can recommend cocktails based on ingredients you select. But this app has a very limited and uncreative algorithm that will only work if your ingredients exactly match the very limited, basic recipes in its database. For example, according to this app, if you have rye, sugar, and bitters, you can’t make an old fashioned because an old fashioned only has bourbon. (Wrong.) Also according to this app, if you have bourbon, bitters, and simple syrup you can’t make an old fashioned because an old fashioned must have sugar but not sugar syrup. (Wrong.) Also, according to this app, if you have bourbon, sugar, and orange bitters you can’t make an old fashioned because an old fashioned must only have angostura bitters. (Wrong again.) Don’t waste your time.

  • Custom drinks and adding comments

Great looking app, but is there a way to add comments to a recipe or create custom cocktails?
  • Unusable on iPad

I'm sure that this is a decent app, however I can't use it properly on my iPad because it seems that the developer isn't supporting it.
  • Branch out your drink options

So simple and practical, great to make full use of that home bar you never touch- only giving 4 stars because the personal bar section has some limitations (certain items can’t be added) - otherwise very convenient & accessible to beginners to mixing drinks
