Street Kids Direct Designated Giving App is the mobile giving app by Street Kids Direct that allows you to directly support the projects you care most about. Our vision is to see a world where children and young people do not need to depend upon the streets in order to survive. Our mission is to impact the lives of children living on the street and children at high risk anywhere in the world. Compared to the average child, the at-risk street-connected children we support are: • 46 times more likely to become a drug user • 12.2 times more likely to attempt suicide • 4.6 times more likely to suffer from depression • 2.5 times more likely to contract a sexually transmitted infection • 2.6 times more likely to contract a major disease Together we can make a difference! – Use the designated giving app to: • Donate to a specific project or child • See exactly where your donation goes and who you are helping • See the value and impact your donation had in the life of an at-risk child • See when help and support is urgently needed You should support high risk children through the Street Kids Direct designated giving app because: • Child poverty is one of the world’s largest yet solvable problems • Our projects can demonstrate their impact in the lives of street-connected children • 100% of donations we receive go to the projects we support • It is proven that helping others makes you a happier person too We support street outreach programmes, outreach to kids at 'high risk' like the children working on Guatemala City's rubbish dump and the support of the children's homes, school for dump children and schools for high risk children. Since 2001 Street Kids Direct has helped over 1,700 children in Central America. In 2020 we have managed to help 140 children get into school, including paying school fees, uniforms, school shoes, books, and supplies. There are currently 96 children being actively mentored through the Mentoring Programme which continues to grow and impact more lives each year. This is all achieved with zero full time paid staff and a nucleus of core volunteers. The national educational pass rate for a child in Guatemala is 73%.
