Reviews of Reeflex Pro Camera

  • Doesn’t come with all features

The camera app was supposed to be free, however it is apparently paid now. I paid for it, and when I entered the app it still wants me to pay even more to get the long exposure modes. From online reviews it all said that it was free, and I don’t think I should have to pay more for a paid app just to get more features that were advertised as free on the reviews.

    Developer Response

Hi there, The YouTube reviews you are referring, which are made from other parties not us, are from more than a year ago and at that time Reeflex Pro Camera was free of charge. Like any other business also apps’ business models and their prices can change and evolve with time. Moreover, we do highlight that the Slow Shutter modes are available upon an additional in-app payment (IAP - subscription or lifetime) here on the App Store listing. Again, the current business model might change again in the future, it is nothing fixed or forever. Said that, we’d be happy to support you and meet your expectations. For that, please reach out to us via email at: support@reeflexstore.com We’ll do our outmost to make sure you're satisfied with your purchase. Thank you. Best, Reeflex team
  • Holy Moly!

Last October (2022) I stepped up from a 12 year old flip phone to an iPhone 14 Pro Max. Now this app has turned my iPhone into a comparable monster with my Nikon DSLR. I have been using this app for a couple of months now and there is not one bad thing I can say about it. The remote control (30 ft range) for my iPhone also works well with this app. If you want total control of your iPhone camera (as in a DSLR mode) this is the only app you’ll want. You know you want it so what are you waiting for?

Caveat: I recommend that you only use this app for shots that require longer exposures like moving water/waterfalls and clouds.
I’ve read complaints about focusing issues and such so with that said, there is no need to use this app all the time/alone. IMO, it’s better if you continued using your phone’s camera for everyday shooting.

Thanks so much for sharing your feedback with us, it is highly appreciated! For any support you’d need or feedback on improvements / new features, feel free for reach out to us again via email at: support@reeflexstore.com Enjoy shooting 💚 Reeflex team
  • Manual settings not work

I use manual control to set iso as 800 and shutter speed is 1/500. But the jpg photo’ exif data shows iso is 125 and shutter speed is 1/88. That is so bad since the reason that most of people buy camera app is because of this manual feature. I check other apps like neoshot and procamera and they don’t have this issue.

    ——————————-
The latest version has resolved this issue.

    Developer Response

Hi Ray Pang, As already done via email, we can explain what is happening here, so for you to understand that this is not a bug of the app and also, that this actually happens on the other 3rd party camera apps you mentioned (ProCamera). When iOS capture the image, it automatically writes its metadata on the file. We don’t touch the metadata, as they are created at the moment of capture. This is why we at first believed it was a bug in the Apple APIs. What happens is that when you shoot in JPG the iOS system captures multiple pictures at multiple exposures (different combinations of ISO and SS, automatically assigned). Now, while the base exposure respects your manual controls, iOS still captures different photos and then writes the metadata of one of them (not necessarily what you set in the App). We might have found a way of disabling this and are still testing. Regarding ProCamera, I’m afraid we have to disagree with you. They have the same problem and we challenge you to test it yourself. Oh and that's not all - ProCamera actually resets the exposure values every time you capture a photo. We had this problem as well in the past and have fixed it already (another bug in the API needing a workaround). Lastly, the comparison with NeoShot and Slow Shutter Cam is “unfair" because these apps work on a different technology (video stream for long exposure). Anyway, we will try to find a workaround to fix this system bug and should have something already working for one of the next updates, together with other several performance improvements. Hope this clarifies your questions and doubts. Best, Reeflex team
