  • TLDR+Balanced Look

    #1 - PvP Megaman - Awesome
#2 - Get strong, earn kills - Awesome
#3 - SA+ Ranked Arena PvP hard to break into for newcomers - Meh
#4 - Plays best with controller - I love it with a controller, harder without
#5 - Tight controls, makes other MM games seem slow - 10/10

#6 - Gacha grind is strong. Saving up 10k+ EM over a couple months is hard with the amount of tasty banners that happen. Usually they give you a free pull but could give more to help boost new players. (<3 Devs)
#7 - PvP is brutal starting out. Ouch. 5* Rank, DNA, and Card combos required to be successful.
#8 - Community is fun though. Good Megaman fanatics here. Discord is popping and people are active with tips and info. In game chat hurts but w/e. Join the Discord.
#9 - Plot is skippable at best. Event bosses can be funny sometimes. The Summer Flame Mammoth Cruise Captain outfit was pretty epic.

    Summary:
    + Fun
+ Play as favorite characters with good variety of skills
    - Takes several months and a lot of love to “git gud”
    - Ranked PvP Meta is dominated by several characters, you have to build to counter and outplay to succeed
    + Good community
    - Takes dedication to power up and be viable. Payoff is huge compared to some other gachas tho as PvP combat gets fun.

  • Amazing game, but it’s a grind game

Love the game mechanics. You can tell the the developers gave special attention to pay homage to the Rockman | Megaman legacy. To offer feedback to make the game better, please make resource cultivation less restrictive. Character/weapon/chip/etc development is at the core of this game and to do this effectively, you must buy-in. Which I understand, but the more value should be added to those who want to. At times I find paid EM vs regular EM confusing and limiting. The quotas to pull from capsules are too high to be enjoyable. For instance, your current Dark Codes event gives us 30 free every day OR 300 for 1000 EM. Pay $22+(32*19)=$763 or grind it. We need 6000 DC for 40 memory of our choosing. That’s maybe one rank up. Eliminate paid EM, be less restrictive. It’s a game after all.

PVP matchmaking could use some adjustments. If it would require a paid subscription to maintain servers to do so, I’d be willing, but oftentimes I don’t find a suitable matchup. They’re either way out of my league/OP or there are no players at all. No game modes, events, or co-op play. Jus deathmatch.

  • A necessary evil

Megaman X Dive is undoubtedly the most practical way to keep things moving in the Mega Man universe in this day in age. But it like most mobile games, is a “gotcha” game. Brimming with micro transactions and a puzzling money system. However, I have found it to be a lot less dependent on spending and more on gameplay to gain any real traction. In my one year of playing I’d honestly say it’s my most played title on iOS and that’s pretty darn great! If you gotta itch for some classic jump n’ shoot this game’s for you!

  • Used to be better.

I picked up this game because I wanted a classic Mega Man experience. For the most part, I got it. The levels range from the run and gun blast, to that Mega Man level of mind numbing, “you want me to do what, how?”. The original additions and glitches are all there, including the random enemies that phase through walls with no explanation. At first this was frustrating, but all part of the experience. I’ll even bite on the excessive ramp in difficulty on later levels, that was always part of the brand Mega Man.
What is not part of the experience is the gatcha. It used to be fun, getting random characters, and getting better ones later, and even better chances if you fork over a reasonable amount of real life money. Not that you needed to. I have several that I rely on, and they did well.
Now however, you can barely get any new decent non-joke characters, and the RNG gatcha makes it More Difficult to get good characters, and seems to thrive to penalize the payer more. The new packs are not reasonable at all, especially with the penalizing RNG, which makes the chances of getting good characters way too low.

  • Backbone/controller support

This game DOES work with controllers (including the Backbone), but it isn’t mapped by default. You need to set up your controls to make it work.

That said, because it doesn’t work natively (and why not?), it doesn’t get the “compatible with controllers” logo on the app, nor the ability for it to be added as a playable app with Backbone. That’s a huge miss.

The game’s fine. I just wish the devs would stop moving things around or making users click through a bunch of dumb stuff every day. I get it - it’s gatcha - but gameplay is maybe 20% of this game.

  • Good game but somethings wrong

First of all I love the game I love the nostalgia behind it but there’s a problem a little bit later after I’ve played through The game for a while now every time I go to the starting screen table so I would say that the games data has been updated but there is nothing showing that the game itself has been updated and it is constantly making me have to come back to the title screen even though I was already there it is constantly sending them almost like spam and not allowing me to get in the game again but besides that it is still an amazing game I hope so this helps you guys make your game better

  • A fun way to pass some time.

I’m a huge fan of the X series and while this has its fair share of references to the original series, the gameplay is more inspired by the X games. It may not be a mainline installment, but I do think it’s a nice nod to the series and a fun little game. The amount of characters is a plus s too, as you can play as both heroes and a couple villains too and there’s plenty of weapons from across the series as well. I quite enjoy completing a few levels when I’ve got some time.

  • Nostalgia …

I am honestly loving this game.. I have always been a huge mega man fan, and I truly loved the X series. I love the updated graphics, updated sounds, and dashing .. it all brings back awesome memories.. and for a mobile game I honestly thought it would be difficult to play but being that you can customize your control options gives you to opportunity to fine tune how you want to play.. honestly for any mega man fan this is a pretty dope game

  • fun for a while…

first impressions of the game were pretty good! it’s nostalgia-bait, sure, but i still think it’s really fun to go through these basic levels and collect cool mega man characters, especially if you’re a fan of the series. the characters’ unique abilities are neat incentives to collect more and if you have an attachment to the characters it’s satisfying to pull them! but whenever i would do a 10-pull i’d usually just get weapons (which were almost always duplicates or just bad) and when i got a character they’d either just be super basic or duplicates.
on top of that, progressing in this game slows to a crawl after a while. i was able to beat a few story missions per day but after some time the required power level to survive stages skyrockets and you need to grind. you also get way less of the free gems after you need to use to gamble for new characters to the point where i’d only get to do a 10-pull every 2 or 3 weeks.
i guess if the seasonal event missions and online modes keep you going you’d love this game but in single player offerings dry up in only a few weeks unless you’re willing to fork over tons of real money.
