  • Amazingly fun, but a couple small issues…

    For a MegaMan X (or any MegaMan) fan, this game is a wonderful mix of nostalgia and a fresh way to play a great series. There are two problems that keep grinding on me though;

    1) If you swap out of the app for any reason, and swap back in without having closed it completely, all audio will be completely missing until restarting the app. I’ve caused this even accidentally so, so many times, and it’s especially irritating mid-level.

    2) The *grind*. A lot of materials are more tedious to farm than they really need to be, which can make getting stronger to continue the story a real chore. I’ve not run out of stamina yet despite having played for almost a week now, but I can imagine that if I did/when I do, it would just be even more annoying and take away from the enjoyment of the game.

While I can enjoy the game and get past these irritations, it’s definitely blemishing what could otherwise be a perfect homage to the X series, and the franchise as a whole. (If nothing else, PLEASE fix the audio bug. I don’t wanna have to keep restarting my game every time I get a text. 😓)

  • Its ok but there is a few problems…

This game has fun game play pretty fare gacha luck and great characters! So what’s the problem? Well number 1 Rico won’t shut up ever! I just want to play a level without her stupid high pitch voice screaming at me the lore of this game, Please add a mute button -_- then there is the next problem… the girl characters. They added jiggle physics… WHY DID THEY ADD JIGLE PHYSICS! its honestly super weird. Not to mention there are beach versions for almost every female character! And wedding themed skins, like why the heck would you do that? But for the most part games pretty good. Do recommend

  • Straight up mega man

When I saw an ad for this game I did t much care for what it said it was. There’s a lot of games out there that use popular assets to catch the eye and make a quick buck in the in game shops. But not only is this game 100% classic mega man the shop is also very worth while. It also seems that almost all the characters from mega man is available to obtain without spending a dime. This game in one day has already been a guilty pleasure of mine at work and at home. Please support this game for a very long time. And keep up the great work

  • Really good and enjoyable but…

My only issue to date and one I’ve had since it first came out (one of the main reasons I didn’t stick with it before) the sound disappears completely when the phone goes into sleep mode or when switching apps.
It’s kind of annoying to have to restart the app every single time this happens. I really appreciate good sound design and especially when it’s from a series I really love from my child hood. (I wanna listen to the music gosh darn it XD)
Yes I does happen in other apps and they seem to have gotten around this problem by adding a sound toggle into settings. Don’t know if that will work here but doesn’t hurt to try.
Running this on an iPhone SE 2nd gen

  • Great Game major load issue

Been having constant issue with the app re downloading. I have to delete it and re download the game constantly. It’s random I can play it for a while then go back to it and it says waiting to download. I go to the App Store and it says open but it want open; then I have to re download again. Excellent game. I think it would be even better if you of course added more characters ie: Dr. Wiley in a machine or past robots. Maybe increase the size of the characters on the level stages.

  • Annoyances

It’s fun for a mobile port of a Megaman game, but there are a few things that are incredibly annoying. One is RiCO, her voice is so high-pitch and she’s CONSTANTLY screaming about random things. I wish there was an option to mute only her. Couple that with the fact that they force you into a tutorial after almost every level of the first 2 or 3 worlds, where RiCO is popping up every two seconds to tell you what to do, and your patience will wear thin very quickly. It’s also annoying how the tutorials for upgrading/enhancing things is out of my control, and I’m forced to spend my actual resources on a tutorial weapon because RiCO is forcing me to upgrade/augment it. If you’re going to make players slog through a convoluted tutorial for upgrading things, the least you could do is provide the materials so the player doesn’t have to waste theirs on a weapon they’re not going to use. Beyond that, it’s patronizing that you need to explain how to do literally every intuitive thing, like a player can’t sit down and figure out how a mobile game works. It’s not like the production model for this game is any different than any other gacha side scroller, so the gratuitous tutoring is just patronizing.

  • Mostly for nostalgia

As a big megaman fan this was a god send to have a mobile game to play whenever I want even if it’s a gacha. However this game seems to focus much more on gacha aspects than a megaman game. The platforming and characters brings back so much memory and the models look great. The gameplay however is bare minimum of a megaman game and focus on gacha format such as repetitive event which needs to be repeated until event ends. Stages are short with not much stage design for good gameplay. Not so forgiving gacha pulls. Every event seems to have some form of glitch(literally ran into at least one glitch in each event and developed doesn’t fix them even when known). Online co op is repetitively boring. PvP jitter makes it annoying. Nothing to do in a guild. Story is ok but repetitive scenarios. Overall it’s ok but glitches and all the annoying mobile gacha mechanics are present

  • Jiggle physics?

Pros: stage music and character art Cons: clunky controls, somehow made jiggle physics even more embarrassing than DoA extreme volleyball and they are on ALL the female robots except roll. If only you could disable them. Did 6 ten-pulls (all free) and the best I got was some lady-bot with a whip I’m completely unfamiliar with and her chest is hyper emphasized while moving all over the place and I was like “what am I playing right now? When did this become megaman?” Zero and X are trash tier next to axl (who deserves it at least) and rockman and .exe are also trash tier of course so my options are whip lady or purple bangs fan service lady with extreme oppai hanging out and I’m seriously not here for that. Especially with these clunky controls and typical pay to win gacha meta. The gameplay here is not at all worthy of that sort investment when the MAJORITY of pulls are generic guns and possessed bosoms that won’t stop moving.

  • MegaMan X7 Garbage (if you know, you know)

Auto-fire doesn’t belong in a MegaMan game. MegaMan X is all about the value of going from rags to riches in gaining power to fight for what you believe in. You start from nothing, and the game puts you right into the action with a natural tutorial where you press buttons to learn how to play on your own. There’s a sequelitis video on it; I highly recommend it.

This game starts you right off the bat with double jump, auto-fire, dashing, and an absurd amount of health. An incessant amount of talking from the get-go and it keeps going and going, just like the newer X games. You are spoon fed everything. It took me five minutes to die from the large bee helicopter. I couldn’t play another minute.

I remember this same exact situation from a Contra mobile game where there is a health bar (which, again, has no place in Contra). I have no doubt these are the same people who made this game. Even that game has an online element where you choose a server for whatever reason. For a game that should obviously be offline.

If this is the future of gaming, I want out.

  • Nostalgia and fun

Recently bought all of the mega man collections and was disappointed that cap on isn’t making them anymore. So this app will likely be the last mega man game we’ll see. The game is fun and builds on the original idea in the first mega man X game. The whole idea of getting stronger as you progress in the game. Lots of fun characters to explore and fighting styles to choose for different gameplay. Controls on the phone are a little weird getting used to but you can tweak the controls to be similar to the OG mega man games. Really cool app and I hope falcon realizes the value in this brand and releases more games. Personally I’d love to play an all new updated mega man legends!
