Description of iLet App

View your current glucose, trend, and other important information directly on your phone with the iLet App! The iLet App is part of the iLet Bionic Pancreas system, an automated insulin delivery system that reduces the need to make decisions about your diabetes management – because it makes the decisions for you. The iLet needs only one number – your weight. After startup, the iLet learns about YOU – your basal insulin needs, how to correct you to target, and how much insulin you need for your meals. The goal of the iLet is to reduce the burden of diabetes management. -No carb counting* Instead of carb counting everything on your plate, the iLet just needs an estimate of the carbs in your meal — Usual for me, More or Less. -No corrections The iLet makes the corrections for you. If you’re trending high, it will automatically give you more insulin to bring you back in range. If you’re trending low, it will reduce your current insulin dosage. -iLet algorithms The “Bionic” part of the iLet that communicates with your CGM and makes all of the insulin dosing decisions—no carb counting, no correction factors, no adjustments. -No pre-set basal rate iLet learns your needs and automatically adjusts your basal rate on the go. -Simple setup No settings are required to be entered or adjusted—the iLet system only needs your weight to get started. -Small but mighty Small (2.3” x 3.5” x 0.6”), lightweight and easy to put in your pocket or clip to your clothing. -Talks to your Dexcom CGM Your iLet device communicates directly with your Dexcom G6 or G7 CGM to know where your glucose is headed. -Water resistant If you drop your iLet in water—no problem! It’s protected in up to 12 feet of water for up to 30 minutes. -iLet App The iLet App displays data from your iLet home screen in real time so you can view your current glucose, trend, notifications, and other important information directly on your phone. It also supports data synchronization, reports and updates for your iLet and allows you to share your data with your healthcare provider. -Create your Bionic Circle Invite up to 10 followers and share your data. Shared data includes: Current glucose reading, a trend graph for the last 24 hrs and notifications such as Urgent Low, Low, and High Glucose. Your Bionic Circle must Allow Notifications for this feature. Please note that any changes made to your iLet therapy settings should be done under the guidance and supervision of a qualified healthcare professional. Before making any adjustments, it is important to consult with your doctor to ensure that the changes are appropriate for your individual needs and health status. *User must be carb aware For safety information, visit www.betabionics.com/safety

iLet app is super innovative and helpful! Amazing technology!
  • ILet is an incredible device…..

The ILet pump and its app are both incredible and easy to use. I have personally lived with T1D since 1982 and have been using various pumps since August 2000 (Disetronic, Animas, Medtronic, Omnipod, Tandem and now ILet).
This pump is what I have been dreaming about and hoping to have for years.
It is accurate and so easy to use and benefit from.
I am looking forward to the future with new options with Beta Bionics and ILet.
Anyone that wants accuracy and ease of use and not having to think about diabetes all day long, so get with Beta Bionics and ILet.

  • Weak app

The Home Screen provides no information about insulin on board (which would be helpful to prepare for potential hypos prior to exercising). This missing info is inconsistent with the app providing average insulin used for meals and basal on the Report screen. Not providing pump users with current insulin on board on the Home Screen makes the iLet difficult to use when exercising.

The Report Screen frequently crashes: it displays the “spinning sun” entry screen but never advances from there. The only fix is to quit the app and try again.

The “overview” graphs the Report screen don’t provide x-axis labels, so it’s virtually impossible to interpret the times associated with the glucose values provided.

Scrolling through the daily graphs of glucose levels and making sense of the tiny bar charts that display meal boluses is difficult because a) the graphs don’t show what size of meal was chosen (usual, more than usual, less than usual) and b) the pump algorithm doesn’t give the user any control over managing the size of these boluses anyway. I guess you might get insight about how long prior to a meal to announce it?

In summary, the lack of info in the app makes it difficult for people who want to adjust the timing of their meal announcements and for people to plan how to maintain glucose control while exercising. As currently designed the app is a missed opportunity to inform users who need more involvement with glucose control other than announcing carb intake.
