Discover Shar Mountain

Discover Shar Mountain through 21 trails in the cross border area od NMK/KS. The application is created through project “Backing Regional Tourism Potential”. The European Union Office in Kosovo finances the project within the framework of the IPA II Cross-Border Program Kosovo – North Macedonia 2014-2020. In partnership with Balkania from North Macedonia and Marimangat and Sharri from Kosovo, the Center for Sustainable Development – ALKA implemented project activities. The overall project objective is to enhance tourism potentials and promote the cross-border region’s values and the stunning Shar Mountain. Twenty-one new hiking trails that strach over 200 kilometers have been marked and signposted on both sides of Shar Mountain in Kosovo and North Macedonia. Besides, many promotional materials like videos, leaflets, mobile applications for the hiking trails, and developed web pages promote Shar Mountain as a unique hiking and mountain tourism destination. Now the visitors have another reason to enjoy the cultural and natural beauties of Shar Mountain.
