Good when it works

Fed up of deleting and reloading every day I use it and sometimes whilst using. The GPS isn't always accurate but I find it useful when approaching locks and locking for a mooring.

Very useful app when it opens

It’s a great app when it works, it often crashes on opening though which does get annoying, sometimes when deleting the app and reinstalling it does open. Running on iOS 16.5.1, if this glitch could get sorted, a satellite overview option and the ability to drop a pin like on google maps I think this would improve the app

Shocking

Poor response on my phone with this app. So am unable to access to comment on basic functionality. Reading comment from another user about journey times leads me to believe you either have the speed setting incorrect, or the user put the wrong limits in.

Expected a lot more

We have recently bought a boat so enrolled in the rescue package which is good, but the Navigation app is no good. It crashes on start up repeatedly, and on the odd occasion it opens, it can’t find a route even if the start and end are 1 mile apart! I hope it can be made to work!

Wildly inaccurate

Great idea and the interface is georgeous but it’s wildly inaccurate. I recently plugged in a journey from East London to Oxford and it plotted a circuitous route, said that route was 2,686 miles and would take me 105 days. I understand the the app is in development and I’m sure it will improve, but it has a long way to go before it’s a viable option for navigating the network.

Doesnt work on my iphone.

Downloaded. First thing I noticed my wallpaper went black. Don’t know if it’s related. Then used a little bit just to have a look. It was a bit of a faff getting my password on the website to match the app. But that’s ok. Now when I try to open it it won’t. Reset my iphone and it worked latest attemp the reset did not help. Thinking about uninstalling then reinstalling

Early days. Good but flawed

Basic browsing of the canal network works fine & app is useful and promising. However on my iPhone XS Max with IOS 16 the app often hangs on startup. Every time I try to calculate a route on the canal network it crashes. So at this point I suspect the app is still in its early stages and the developers need longer to iron out the snags. Will happily update this review when the app is stable.

Not to be relied upon

I used this app to calculate the time and distance to travel from A to B and found that it gave an answer that was three times longer in distance than the version found on the online version. The time to travel between A and B was also far different to the time given in the online version.
All in all I think this app needs some attention

Hi there, we have issued a new patch to alleviate this problems. There is a new report route button which will provide us with more information and fix abnormal data points easier. No verification email

Love to give this app a try with an active account, but no matter how many times I try, it won’t send me a verification email to open an account and access the app fully. Very frustrating!

Great app

Waternav is a new, fresh app that really thinks about what the customer wants from an app. The route planning is great and I am always told when updates are needed so I always have current data. The app is easy to use and has a simple, clean design. I would recommend this app to anyone.
