  • My downloads vanished

    After a recent update, all my downloads are missing. I discovered the problem while beginning a long plane flight. I spent many hours downloading this music.
    Downloading is very painful and clumsy with this app. Rather than risking a repeat of this problem, I am going back to Apple Music, which is reliable and I can download music from my library with a cable connection.

  • Unreliable, and needs Apple Watch app

    Roon is great when it works. That’s equally true for Roon Arc. There’s no good reason why it can’t work behind CGNAT. At the *very* least it should work when the devices have Tailscale or another method of NAT traversal, but really it should handle NAT traversal itself. But even without CGNAT the connection is awfully unreliable.

    Once those issues are addressed, please consider adding an Apple Watch app. I’d love to give up my Apple Music subscription and switch to Roon for all my music listening, but that isn’t happening without a Watch app.

  • Downloading is a nightmare

    Downloading tracks is a nightmare. If my screen goes to sleep while an album is downloading, downloading completely stops, and I have to force quit the app and re-open it to get downloads to resume. Why can’t downloads continue while the screen is off. And why won’t downloads resume after the screen is reawakened?

  • Works well enough, but causes phone to run really hot.

    I have been using this on my 14 day trial and my phone is running REALLY hot. I got a warning about it and just turned it off. Using and iPhone 12 Pro Max and RoonArc on Mobile data low bandwidth mode.
  • Always get “Poor Connection” message

    I’ve never once been able to get Room Arc to work. My regular Roon works fine all the time and streams throughout the house. No matter where I am with my phone, I’ve never received anything other than a “Poor Connection —Try Again” error. I’ve updated the app to no effect, I’ve tried it with wifi and cellular. Simply won’t work.

  • Needs an iPad version

    Great app, but needs an iPad version. I would also love to see an update that includes a bit rate playback in the player.
  • Can’t get tinto work

    I can’t get it to work since it was released. I am an IT professional and have correctly configured my router and core. ARC never connects to my core.
  • Updates continue to improve performance

    The Roon team continues to make improvements. It’s still not perfect but I commend the team for continuing to push out improvements. Great job!

  • Works smoothly for me

    ARC has worked quite reliably for me away from home. My carrier is Verizon and I’ve had zero issues. If you are worried about bandwidth, you can download ahead of time.

    Roon is not that difficult to setup, but yes it is a server/web app and you need to consider it through that lens. It is not like installing a program on your Windows PC. But this is not a Room review.
