Que?

I updated to the current version of the app and was trying to poke around to see what matches were available and apparently accidentally clicked on something and it started playing a game in Picture in Picture mode and no matter what I tried I could not make the Picture in Picture stop and go away. Old iPad with iOS 15.8.2

FOR ALL USERS: Best way to use…

I see all the complaints (valid) but best way to use is log in through a browser and chromecast from there. That works seamlessly.
Tech could definitely be improved but for rugby fans…suck it up and do that above. I watched 3 matches last weekend and it worked really well

Improvements Needed

Stuck with TRN if you want to watch MLR or the Premiership, but really lacks basic functionality of other streaming services. How the app/website are unable to save your progress of watching replays is incredibly frustrating. Don’t think I’ll be renewing my subscription if this isn’t fixed.

Meh app

This app does not have great playback functionality unless you want to watch games directly on your phone. I can AirPlay to my TV, but if I switch apps the playback pauses, and if I don’t have the app fully on screen on my phone for more than a few minutes, AirPlay stops completely and I lose the stream. I don’t experience this AirPlay issue with other video streaming apps. Odd that there’s no TV app for the rugby network.

Amateur hour trash site/app

If you can get this to work, then it’s ok, but heaven help you if you want to switch from watching on your phone to your tv/tablet. They have everything locked down to only allow 1 stream from an account, but then they don’t register when you stop watching on one and try to switch to the other. Same thing happens if you accidentally close your browser. Whoever is writing the apps and site for TRN are beyond awful. So much for USA Rugby promoting the sport here in the US.

Not ready for primetime. Save your money & get a VPN

With the new update, you have to buy a subscription to even see the Premiership schedule.

Stream is choppy and low quality, often stopping unexpectedly then one has to close down & sign back into the app.

And where did last year’s MLR matches go? Why ate the current season not included, or are they now pay to play too. This service is a joke.

Constant Problems

The Premiership Rugby rollout was horrible. It took them five weeks into the season to add casting to a smart TV from an iPhone. Now they’ve updated the app and it no longer works, at least not on an iPhone. It’s as if there’s no testing going on. Never mind that it lacks conveniences like saving your spot if you can’t watch an entire match at once. So glad the URC is on FloSports, a MUCH better streaming service.

Doesn’t work anywhere…phone, Roku, AppleTV

Thought this was going to be an easy way to watch the Gallagher Premiership. Went to download on AppleTV, not available. So downloaded the app on the iPhone and would cast it to the AppleTV. That did not work. Saw the app was available on Roku, bought a Roku stick, downloaded the app. Gallagher Premiership matches cannot be viewed on Roku. Final attempt was to watch it on my iPhone, nope still have problems. About every five minutes the audio gets broken, it gets delayed and then it starts over dubbing itself. Every platform is a mess, would give it zero stars if I could.

Good but glitchy

When it works, the app is great and gives access to the Premiership rugby. But there’s often an echo in the sound which needs the app to restart to resolve and now that I have (tried to) run the app on Apple TV, it has locked me out saying too many devices are running the app…although I’ve deleted from Apple TV and the iPad in turn. Better than no rugby, but it’s frustrating.

Bad

It says it does the premiership rugby but you go on it and does say anything about the premiership rugby at all only the major league
