We've added support for signs that aren't part of the LA Historical Markers Program! You can now specify the type of sign when submitting and you can even filter by sign type. Currently we are lumping all non-official signs into the "Other" category, but we hope to expand in future releases. This release also includes various bug fixes and improvements.

1.2.2

April 18, 2021

We have a new app icon! It's a lot like the old icon, but brighter and nicer. This release also introduces the "Go" button. When viewing a particular marker, hit "GO" to open directions in your navigation app of choice. We currently support Apple Maps, Google Maps, and Waze. This release also addresses several bugs: - Markers should no longer flash as you move around (that one was annoying us). - Name and Description should no longer clear when the app is backgrounded - On smaller devices, the submission workflow could not be completed (we hope we didn't miss out on too many submissions!)

1.1.0

April 10, 2021

This release improves how we handle map navigation - including ensuring that the distances between you and the markers update if appropriate permissions are given. It also brings support for photos! You can now take a picture of the marker (or select a picture you've already taken) and include it with your submission, so others can see what it looks like.

Price History of LA Historical Markers

Description of LA Historical Markers

LA Historical Markers is a user-driven database of signs commissioned through the Louisiana Historical Markers programs. These (usually) brown, roadside signs can be found marking buildings, towns, and areas of historical significance across the state. In the LA Historical Markers app, you can find markers near you, explore markers across the entire state, and even submit markers you find. This app is 100% user driven, so if you don't see a sign that you know exists, be sure to submit it the next time you find yourself driving by.

It is outstanding now instead of stopping in the middle of the road or trying to read the signs while going 50 mph I can look the location up and read it while I’m driving
