Reviews of Cryptomator

  • One of the best encryptors out there.

Highly recommend. Have been using since early versions. Only gets easier to use while encryption only gets stronger. Don’t take my word for it, try it out.
  • File does not exist

Just purchased 1 year subscription. The first file I tried to encrypt on my iPad fails and gives me a text box telling me that the file I just dragged into your software “does not exist”. Really? Well, obviously it does exist...I believe it has to exist or I wouldn’t have been able to drag into the software! The fact that your software can’t do the simplest task means you’re software is awful and I just lost $6. Too bad I can’t give you 0 stars. Thanks, Cryptomator.
  • Nothing on Boxcryptor..

I bought the Life subscription. Cryptomator is not as functional or versatile as Boxcryptor, on my iOS/iPadOS devices. It’s rather finicky in a few ways. I uploaded a folder of 126 screenshots to my vault and it froze up my Files app. The folder was completely inaccessible and showed nothing in it, even after restarting my iPhone. Then after some hours it refreshed and became available. Also, Cryptomator doesn’t solely rely on unlocking of the device for security, but also has to be unlocked within the Files app. You won’t be able to efficiently work with files within a Cryptomator vault like Boxcryptor allowed. But now I have no other choice…..
