Fantastic game

The game is good and the sound effects are calming, but there are a few things that might need to be improved, such as increasing the randomness of the openings, I found that the ai openings don't change if the chosen ai level doesn't change, but this can be stale if the ai has already been defeated with the same move before, so I hope that the ability to randomize ai openings can be increased

Clearly made with love

I wish every app was like this… Simple, well designed, and responsive app to practice strategy. I’m new to Othello but skilled at other similar games. Just took me about 10 games to beat the level 2 bot, and there are 8 levels to fight, so the challenge should last a while… the characters are cute too, and the themes look good.

So 1 star and I’m now uninstalling it

Great except one thing

The app has 8 play levels, from dead easy to very difficult. I’ve only won once, by a thin margin, on level 8.

This would be five stars if there was the ability to take back even one move. Primarily this is important because touch spots aren’t always right. It can also be useful for investigating alternate play at critical junctions.

You can take back moves as you like via the History view!

Review:

This game is pretty good. I like how you can change the difficulty. I don’t like how it doesn’t let you unlock the different themes freely, without purchasing it online…good game though.

i really love everything about it! i have a request/some feedback though.

i recently got into othello this year, but it’s probably one of my favorite little games to just play. i discovered it in a hatsune miku minigame on my 3ds that i played all the time and took everywhere with me! and when i found out it was actually othello and there were apps for it i got so happy. i’ve tried other othello apps and this one seems to be my favorite.

i do have a request though, could you please add a new mode for single player/where you control both black and white? i saw it in another othello app, it’s for playing by yourself or with someone else in person. i have an ipad and id love to play othello in person with my friends, but the only game modes on my favorite piccolo are AI and online.

Thank you so much for your kind words. The feature you're referring to already exists: simply go to settings (button on the bottom right of the screen) and disable the AI by activating the "AI Disabled" toggle. This will effectively make it such that two people can play on the same device, since the AI is now disabled. You can even set a name for the second player.

Shakespeare ripoff

how dareth thee to ripoff one of the greatest playwrights i spiteth on thee

Never win

Even if I play the least difficult level, I never win, and that’s absolutely no fun, so I deleted the game.
