Forget the 3D design I just need to figure cost of your product and what the material list is.
This program should be erased and rewritten w contractors in mind. This program is clunky, doesn’t need to be in 3D and is not user friendly.
Please redesign so you can create and edit without the stupid room scan. I’ve been on your site and on this app, at this point I don’t want to use your products if you can’t make your design software simple and easy.

Dumb program useless to a contractor
Not intuitive. What information is it supposed to provide?
Could not figure it out.
I tried three times to get this app going. I found no useable instructions on how to get this to create a deck. There are many controls and very poor on screen prompts. First thing it wanted to do was scan a room??? Generally decks are built outside. The whole process is total guesswork and a waste of time. The Trex YouTube on how to use the app was useless.
In response to the developer comment I am aware that this is not a designer but a visualizer! My point stands that the tool is utterly confusing and trying to “scan the room” I the first prompt on launch makes no sense. Then you get searching for a starting point and I am wandering around trying to figure out what the app wants to see. Miraculously a deck pops up but about 2 feet above where it should be in relation to the actual house in the camera view then attempting to orient the deck properly on the house is a joke. My finger swipes seem to semi randomly rotate the deck but in different directions at different times. Then 10 minutes in I almost have it looking like what I am going to build and the App crashes. All my work gone!
Remember all the time the deck cuts across the middle of the sliding glass door. I saw no obvious way to vertically move the deck to sit below the siding and door. As far as visualizing I was never able to get to a place where I could start playing with what products I wanted to compare.
This App in concept is great but in application is substandard. Maybe a real tutorial video that takes you through the steps rather than a marketing video extolling the cool features of the app might change my mind.
Don’t waste your time until they do a big upgrade on the app. So close but sooo far away!

So, if you are looking to see what a (not your) deck might look like if you were standing inside the railing…. This is your app.
If you want to see what a deck that you design would look like…. Not a good choice.

I’ve only had the app 5 minutes so I haven’t figured this out yet.

Thanks for downloading the app, if you need live assistance please call our US-based call center at 1-800-BUY-TREX.I would say glitchy at best. Poorly designed, coded, lacks must need features to make useable, im pretty sure trex found the only person in the world that would build all there mobile phone web pages and apps for a dollar, or possibly even hired children to do it for them. Don’t even waste your time. Can’t set sq foot or dimensions, it jumps from mode to mode, have to delete and restart, perspective can’t be changed (like how close how far you are viewing the deck), can’t change the height of the deck ( most people are not building a ground level deck), very jumpy/ glitchy. If you like things that make you frustrated this app is for you
