This app got me creatively unstuck
I’ve been making music for years at an amateur level. I don’t play an instrument and I barely know how chords work, but I enjoy coming up with melodies and progressions, so this app was perfect for me. I was skeptical at first, but I found myself returning to it repeatedly during the first day because of how fun it is to use. I came up with a song within hours and exported it to Logic for fleshing out. Even if I had months I wouldn’t have come up with something so good. If you’re open to collaborating with technology to create art, you’re going to get a lot out of this app.Show lessgrahamhagenah
Amazing but a little pricey
This app is awesome for song writing, I’ve been looking for an app that could work better than just the notes app and this is great, my only frustration is the price being subscription based, Unless there’s amazing new features every month I don’t heaps see the need for it to be a subscription based app.
Will definitely keep seeing how far I can go with the free version as it’s working great for me now as I don’t need a lot of the extra features that premium offers.
I wish there was like a 1 time payment to unlock unlimited songs and a base set of features.

Unbelievable
I never write app reviews but I’m totally sold on Demo. I have been writing songs for years but because I’m a vocalist who primarily writes using Melodies, I’ve been stuck trying to translate all of my repertoire to chords so I can play them on guitar.
No longer an issue. Demo’s incredible Chord selection features and arranger makes it so easy to figure out what chords to plug in where and it’s such a brilliant and fun UI.
Not only that but it makes for an amazing “song collection” app.
I’ve barely scratched the surface of the features (upgraded to PRO almost immediately!) but I know there’s even more great things in store. Bravo.Show lessjimmiller113

Great! But…
This is a fantastic app. It’s honestly life changing as a songwriter to be able to write songs and create demos so quickly. The accompaniments are terrific and allow for so much variety. As a jazz songwriter it would be nice to have a few more esoteric chord options and a larger My Chords section to allow for chromaticism and modulations. Saying that, all of the essential standard jazz chords are included and make this an ideal tool for all styles including jazz and jazz influenced music. Incredible!Show lessJohnjohnjohn1986
Could Be Better
I downloaded the app thinking this is a pretty cool way to write a song.. I soon realized that for some variety in the rhythms I had to pay and I couldn’t even change the chord progressions without paying.. in turn I bought the premium only to realize that the choices were still very limited and the sound I was looking for wasn’t in any of the presets.. this would be alright if the presets could be ignored and you could make your own rhythm, but you just can’t.. the idea of having the rhythm presets with the lyrics on top and a recording would be awesome for mobile songwriters like myself, but there’s just not enough rhythms, styles, nor flexibility in the app. The app right now should not have a premium because in premium you should be allowed to make changes to the music however you’d like.. If there’s an update where that’s fixed surely this is a 5 star app.Show lessIshaan A.

Hi, thanks for the feedback! To clarify, in the free version you can create custom progressions with any standard chord in any key by pressing 'Custom' (the first option in chord selection). That allows you to control exactly when your chords come in, down to the quarter note (double to the bpm for 8th note options). Then, also you can loop your progressions, build + organize the song, write lyrics, get rhyme suggestions, track + mix audio, and export your song. Hope that helps! Re: rhythm preset options. If like me you are not great on instruments but you want to create and give other musicians your thoughts, you can with this… I like the fact that I can add my lyrics and my music ideas into some kind of format… I am new to this so I am still figuring things out but so far it is ok… I am trying to learn how to copy and paste a verse somewhere else for repeating … but any other wise it goodShow lessJazzsoundlover
The organization my brain has been waiting for
As a songwriter, I find that my ideas are all over the place. I jot down lyrics in my notes app while walking down the street and melodies in my voice memos in the middle of work. When I go back later to start piecing things together, I find that I spend an annoying amount of time just searching for all of that material. This app has cut out all of that wasted time searching and kept things neat and organized so I can focus more on the creativity without wasting time or energy just trying to find my ideas. Songwriters know that writing music is therapeutic. This app is absolutely perfect for when you can’t sit down at a piano or with a guitar. When I need it, I can listen to a chord progression on repeat and let my brain relax and say what it wants with no effort.
