TTB anywhere, anytime.

Years ago, I was restricted to listening to Thru The Bible from 12:30 to 1 o'clock on BBN radio. Now once the messages are downloaded, I can listen to them anytime, anywhere, as many times as I would like every day. This is such a blessing. I'm so thankful for Thru The Bible and now for this wonderful app that they have given us to use as a tool for reading and studying the Word of God. Using the Apple App Store, I was able to send TTB to my brother and to my nephew, for their further Bible study.

Dear Dawvidjr, thank you for your kind words and 5 star rating. We are very happy to hear that our app is making the Bible and Dr. McGee's studies available to you whenever you need them. Thank you for sharing our app with your family as well. May God richly bless you!

Great teaching…app needs work

I rely on this app for supplemental teaching! The new version has crashed several times. It has some nice features, but it is glitching! Very frustrating. I hope you can get it corrected soon. The old version was flawless! I miss the old version! I send a copy of the teaching to my siblings every day, they are non believers, my hope is maybe they are listening and not telling me!

App fixes seem to have worked! I would like to send the copy of the daily study while listening without the app stopping, but all in all it’s a great app!

Dear Friend, thank you for your candid feedback regarding the app. We recently released app version 2.0.4 this past week. Please install it and let us know what you think at help@ttb.org. If you see improvement, please consider updating your rating if we deserve it. May God richly bless you!

A few added features

Some added personalized settings would be greatly appreciated for this app! Being able to bring what you’re playing to fullscreen and instead of using the very tiny search bar on the bottom to skip ahead adding a feature to rewind or fast-forward 15 or 30 seconds would be so helpful! Also, being able to check off either whole books that I had completed already or just one episode instead of having to physically go in and pretend to listen by skipping forward to the very last few seconds so the app catches on that I have listened to it.

Dear Gracie Lou7, thank you for your candid feedback. Please contact us at help@ttb.org to allow us to walk you through the app. Our app already has a solution to every feature you have listed in your response. To expand the audio player to the fullscreen, tap on the audio player at the bottom of the screen. After it opens, you will see the full audio controls (pause, fast forward, reverse, speed control, progress bar). To check off an entire book worth of studies, press on a book in the Explore Studies section under Your Journey. When the list of episodes appears, look for an button that is a "circle with a checkmark" in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Press this button to mark the entire book as being completed. You can also use this same button to reset the book's saved listening progress when you start your next 5 year Bible Bus ride. The same functionality exists at the individual study or episode level. If the book's list of studies is still open on your app, press the "box and arrow" icon next to the study title you wish to mark as completed. This action will open a submenu of additional options. Press "Mark as Completed" to mark the selected study as completed. We look forward to hearing from you should you have any other questions, feedback, or feature requests. Thank you for riding the Bible Bus with us. May God richly bless you!

Love TTB

Long time rider of the Bible Bus and I appreciate this app so much! I’ve also been able to share the app with 2 different heart language listeners (one in Spanish and one in Portuguese)
I have recently noticed that the study player will not continue to play once my screen goes into battery-saver mode (screen goes dark). My other audio apps continue to play in screen saver mode but I have to keep the TTB app open and screen on to have it play. (This seemed to happen right after the latest iOS update) Could you check into this bug?

Dear Chloe'sMom, thank you for your candid feedback and grace. Please install app version 2.0.4 which we released this past week. It solves the issues you were experiencing with app version 2.0.3. After trying it out, please let us know what you think at help@ttb.org. May God richly bless you!

Latest update has bugs

The first and biggest issue is now the app must remain open to continue playing the audio. Minimising the app or even turning the screen off pauses the playback, which is unfortunate when I want to turn the screen off to listen.

Secondly, tracks that were marked as completed have now been marked incomplete. Only those I've listened to from September 8 onwards still are complete. I know with the v2 update it has some weird issues with wrong dates showing for completed. It had been showing 2021 dates, when I've only started listening early this year. But at least the ones I've listened to before this update were (mostly) correctly marked done. I've both manually listened to tracks and also marked one entire book as done, but now the progress has all be undone.

I am hesitant to use the mark all as complete feature again as it overwrites the dates of completion to the date I press the button, which happened when I did it for a book where a single track refused to be marked as completed even when I re-listened to it, and marked as completed the entire book. So all it did was erase the actual history of dates when I had listened to half the book (since half of it I'd listened before the v2 update and were showing the incorrect 2021 dates).

Dear Nightonix, thank you for your candid feedback. If possible, please install app version 2.0.4 which we released this past week. This latest update resolves two of the issues you mentioned in your review (continuous play when screen goes dark, pausing playback when phone goes to sleep). We can also help you with your saved listening progress. This is a more involved process, so we recommend reaching out to us at help@ttb.org rather than writing the entire set of possible solutions in this review response. May God richly bless you!

So Good!

“Thru the Bible” has been a life-changing journey through God’s Word for me. Dr. J. Vernon McGee’s teaching is both insightful and deeply rooted in Scripture, making the Bible come alive in a way that’s easy to understand yet profoundly impactful. His verse-by-verse approach brings clarity to even the most challenging passages, and his warm, conversational style feels like a trusted friend guiding you through the Word. Whether you’re new to the Bible or a seasoned believer, this program will enrich your understanding and deepen your faith. Highly recommend it to anyone looking to grow in their walk with the Lord!

Thank you for the amazing review and positive rating! We look forward to hearing your future feedback to improve the app for all Bible Bus passengers. May God richly bless you!

Not smooth, old app was way better

I’m so frustrated. I’ve been on the Bible bus for about 6 years. The other app just stopped working last week so I’ve moved over to this one. It sure would be nice to be able to scroll back a day or two from the current day (for the times when you fall behind). And why do I need to log in at all on this app?? The other app did not make me create an account in order to use it. This seems very low quality app (high quality teaching though). Not sure what I’m going to do now as this current app is designed so poorly. 😭 Sometimes change for the sake of change is unnecessary. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!”

Too many glitches

This app could be perfect but it has too many glitches. I installed it a few days ago and I've been trying to follow the study in order using My Journey but it's not working. Every time I open the app My Journey shows a different audio file than the one I left off. And it doesn't show my progress because it erases it. At first I thought, "ok this content is too good to let that bother me, I can select the next audio manually", but when I opened the app this morning, all the content was gone! So that's not even an option!
I feel sad because an amazing Bible study like this one should have an amazing app as well.

New version 2.0 is not performing well

I listen to J Vernon McGee hours every day. The original app was amazing. It worked flawlessly and the speed was super fast with no buffering. The new version, or update 2.0, is painfully slow and is missing much of the content that I really enjoyed. The question and answer segment was my favorite. This segment has disappeared and that’s very disappointing. I realize that applications need updated periodically. Before releasing an app that takes forever to load (and I am on a fiber network with blazing speed) make sure that it is an improvement. I’d put the old application back up and spend however long it takes to get the new version right.
