Didn’t think I’d like it *that* much

I installed Pixette a few months ago on my old iPad and it’s been a lot of fun to see all my old pictures come alive. In fact, I liked it so much that I bought another secondhand iPad just to have the slideshow in two rooms. And both times whenI had a technical issue I reached out to the developer and was helped quickly.

Hunted for ages to find this app!

It was such a simple thing - use my iPad as an automated viewer for the hundreds of photos and vids on my NAS. But until this app nothing would do it - lots claim to - but connecting would prove impossible.
Even with this you have to be careful to get the WebDAV connection just right - use port 5006 and use both upper and lower case if needed. The instructions weren't easy to find, but that is my only grumble. Once connected it runs perfectly.

Thank you very much for your feedback! The next step is definitely to simplify the connexion to the NAS ;-) UPDATE 28.04: I added now the possibility to browse through your NAS folders and select the right folder. I'm sure this facilitates the initial connexion setup.

So easy to use and so much fun to see my pics

I’ve been looking for a better way to access my photos and moved my entire (10,000+) collection of family photos to my Synology NAS. It’s slideshow capability is limited but I discovered Pixette and it was so easy to use and has now brought me lots of enjoyment as I stop and watch a few photos every time I walk by my old iPad. I resurrected an old iPad just to leave the photos visible all day. The developer was also very responsive to questions I had - I tried the free version but I upgraded, the price is well worth it to see photos from my entire collection.

Thanks for the great app!

Just what I wanted

I have a Nas box with 48 year’s worth of scanned and digital photos and Several old iPads that I wanted throughout the house showing a different random photo every day. Having tried many apps one of them worked as I wanted. You had to pick a folder.

Many of those other apps crashed often too. This has been running without a glitch so far.

This wonderful app selects different photos from different folders.

Exactly what I wanted.

Highly recommended.

Crashes on iPad OS 14.5.1

The app does not seem to function on my iPad, it does not open, goes into a black screen and then crashes. Would like a refund please.
Update June 3: Concerned resolved in Test Flight, love the app now, thanks!

Response from developer

Hello, could you please try the latest version 1.2.1 that will be released tomorrow to see if that fixes your problem? Make sure to first delete completely the previous version. The app cost was 1$ and I'm not familiar with refund process, but perhaps you have some success by following: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204084 otherwise, please write me on pixette.app@gmail.com to see how I can help solve the issue.

It does exactly what I was looking for

My problem - Synology NAS drive with almost 70K photos accumulated over 20+ years and no easy way to view them. Could not find any digital photo frames that could talk to local file server, so got gently used iPad and with this app turned it into very decent slideshow device.

Setup was quite straightforward (help link helped) - you need to add WebDAV package to Synology and create user for the app. It discovered all the photos and handled them just fine ( FileBrowserGO app I tried first could not handle slideshow of that size ).

As a suggestion - may be make it easier to discover network drives in future versions?

Just what was looking for

I was looking for something like this last year and had to buy a PixStar frame instead. Now able to add another frame. Hope an Apple TV app is coming as DS Photo doesn’t work great. Wish the scaling of some of the photos were better as some get cut off.
