  • white screen

I used and enjoyed the app for a few days, but ever since one of the updates the app is unseeable and I just get a white screen. I emailed support and didn’t get a response. very disappointing because I bought the annual subscription
  • Lost access to my profile

As the heading said I lost access to the app , so I redownloaded now I have to input all of the information on my four tanks. In addition to that I paid for a year and now it’s asking for money to upgrade. And there’s no way to contact anyone to correct this. I will file a dispute with Apple if I can.

  • New update brings real value!!!

What was once a good idea that wasn’t quite there is now very usable!! Still missing some features like tank backups for import/exporting to avoid having to re-enter data, some fish I’d like to see added/supported (like the Hillstream Loach, or many non-bristlenose plecos (like my leopard pleco!) With this new update, I can finally abandon my spreadsheet!! Thanks for your hard work devs!

Update: much respect to the devs! Thank you very much for adding my fish!!! ❤️😅 The UX has also gotten so much better for adding fish since I left my original review. The biggest thing would be what I suggested in a YT comment on the release video saying a type-ahead search that would avoid a double layer drop-down would be more intuitive. So surprised and pleased to see it implemented as well, and so quickly 😍 I’m sure that one was already in the backlog before I suggested it tho 😄

So excited to hear that you guys have also added the import/export features to the backlog!!! 🫡

    Developer Response

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We have added the import/export feature to our development backlog and plan to implement it in the near future. Additionally, we are pleased to inform you that we are actively working on a custom addition feature, which will allow users to add any species not currently available in the app. This feature is anticipated to be available by September. We also appreciate your fish recommendations, which you can expect to see in the app within the next two weeks.
  • Not good

Missing a lot of fish species.
Doesn’t allow you to add anything to the tank that’s not in preset drop downs.
    Missing some testing parameters.
Might be good for a beginner but I wouldn’t recommend it at this time nor will I be using it. Deleted it.
On top of all the above you have to pay a subscription.
There are way better apps for a fraction of the price and it’s a one time purchase for those.
Save yourself the hassle and try something else.

    Developer Response

Thank you for your valuable feedback! As we continue to develop Aquabuildr with insights from passionate aquarists like yourself, we genuinely appreciate your constructive criticism. Your input is instrumental in helping us expand our species database. If you have any specific species you'd like to see added, please feel free to submit a list through the feedback section of the app, and we will prioritize their inclusion as soon as possible. We're also excited to announce that we're actively working on a custom addition feature, allowing users to add any species not currently in the app. This feature is expected to be implemented by September. Regarding pricing, we offer a free version that supports one tank and includes most of the premium features. For those managing multiple tanks, we provide a paid version that supports unlimited tanks. This helps us cover the costs of securely maintaining our users' data. Thank you once again for helping us make Aquabuildr the best aquarium app for all aquarists!

  • Way too many glitches

Very few options for fish species. Water parameters not accurate. The app opens my device settings every time it is opened, wanting me to accept push notifications, which I don’t want or need. The entire application seems to be the culmination of half baked ideas. No response for developers when reporting issues.

    Developer Response

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We apologize for the delay in responding to the issue you reported. Due to a technical glitch, we experienced some challenges in receiving messages, but this has now been resolved with the release of our new V3 version. As we continue to train and update our AI and algorithms, we draw from a wide range of sources to ensure the most accurate data. However, expert insights from professionals like yourself are incredibly important to us. We invite you to download the free version of Aquabuildr and submit any issues or recommendations through the feedback section. We review all feedback daily and greatly appreciate your contributions.
  • Excellent start but not complete

The app will not let me take a picture or upload one despite permissions. Also, there is are limited types of fish to choose from. More specifically in my case, the hypancistrus plecos are not included. I love the idea of the app especially for preventing fish abuse. However, in my opinion, before this great idea blows up, it needs to be more complete and less buggy. Otherwise, awesome idea

    Developer Response

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We encountered some challenges with uploading pictures and videos in version 2, but I’m pleased to inform you that these issues have been resolved in our newly released V3.0.  We invite you to download the latest version of Aquabuildr, where you can submit any issues or suggestions, including requests for additional fish species, directly through the feedback section. We review all feedback daily and greatly appreciate your contributions. We have added your Pleco request to our backlog and expect to include it in the app within the next two weeks. Additionally, we will soon be releasing a custom fish addition feature, allowing users to add species that are not yet available in the app.
  • Better off just googling-Not accurate

Hate to trash anyone’s new app idea but this isn’t good for a beginner hobbyist at all!! It lets you add way more fish than you should put in a tank (example 7 Oscar’s in a 75 gallon). Also the compatibility of the species is way off too, if you were to follow this you’d end up with quite the nightmare. Steer clear and GPT and Google are still your best friend for information.

    Developer Response

Thank you for your valuable feedback. As you noted, we've been addressing several updates to the app's compatibility algorithm, which included resolving various issues, such as the Oscar bug, during the software training phase. With the launch of Version 3, we've significantly improved compatibility; however, we acknowledge that there may still be bugs that need to be addressed. Our goal is to create an app "For Aquarists, by Aquarists," and your constructive input is instrumental in helping us achieve that. We encourage you to continue sharing your feedback through the app's feedback section, as it plays a critical role in our ongoing efforts to enhance the app for our community of passionate aquarists.  And for the record, the app now advises only 1 Oscar for 75 gallons ;)
  • Love the concept but…

Great start but we need a lot more options for fish and more customization options. We need to be able to make changes to tanks once we add them. We can’t update pictures. The app overall is going to be great but there will need to be several upgrades for it to be more useful to user, especially those with larger tanks.

    Developer Response

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We're excited to announce that Aquabuildr V3.0 now offers a fully enhanced user experience, featuring expanded customization options, a wider variety of fish species, and the ability to add custom fish. If you have specific fish you'd like to see in the app, please share your suggestions in the feedback section, and we'll strive to incorporate them within two weeks.
  • Nice App!

A good start…will be even better when more species are added, and maybe more water stats.
