Swatch Beat Time

Love having this app. I don’t really need it, but Beat time was a cool innovation by Swatch Group and hope that one day it will be the universal global time.

Alarms would be nice

Love the app. It’s minimal and pretty. I would pay money to have an alarm function.

Response from developer

Good news: now you can set alarm notifications!

Widget is delayed

The widget is always like 3 beats behind.

Widgets need work

App is great, but the colour choice does not appear to carry over to the widget (and is difficult to interpret in dark mode by default).

Converter is a nice addition.

Useful and accurate, but not perfect. (Broken Widgets)

As a casual fan of “Swatch Internet Time”, I really appreciate apps like this one, that let me easily find out what time it is online, without needing to open a web browser. In my experience, it has been an accurate and reliable method of checking the time when I need to surf the net. That being said, I can’t say I give this app my full praise. My main criticism of this app is the fact that it’s widgets don’t seem to work. The purpose of the widgets. I briefly put this app’s widgets on my home and lock screen, so I could easily check the time on the internet, without even needing to open the app. However, I quickly discovered that these widgets, while accurate at time of placement, seemed to remain static, not updating as time passed, and quickly becoming inaccurate. This seems like a huge oversight, and while I was hopeful this would be patched in a not-too-distant update, said update has simply never come. I downloaded this app with the specific goal of placing internet time widgets on my home screen, so this came as a huge letdown to me. This isn’t my only criticism, a more minor issue I have with the app is that I can’t say I’m a fan of it’s design, which I find rather unappealing in it’s colour choices. However, I do recognise this is a “me issue”, and a matter of taste. You might find the aesthetics more favourable than I do, in which case, more power to you, I hope you enjoy what I fail to. But I still can’t help but feel a little dissatisfied with the appearance of this app. Overall, If you’re someone with an interest in Swatch’s Internet Time like myself, I would recommend this app to you. But I think these flaws are important to note, and I hope they get fixed sometime in the near future. I love the concept of Internet Time, and would love to see this app reach it’s full potential. But until then, I’ll simply have to accept the app’s flaws.

Great app, but problems with widgets

App works perfectly and is simple to use. However, the widgets do not always update frequently enough, sometimes falling tens of beats behind the actual time. I imagine this an issue with Apple throttling widget updates rather than an app-specific problem.

Beats

Works exactly as indicated. If you are here, looking for this, you’ve found it. Surprising, I know.

Keeping the dream alive!

I know it will never happen. I realize the world as we know it cannot handle swatch @beat internet time. I feel like it’s the future and I’m thankful that developers like YOU keep the dream alive. Thanks for making the app and for widgetizing using it.

Response from developer

Pleasure is mine. Thanks for your message !

Wrong times?

Doesn’t seem to properly calculate timezones.

Widget issue

I like having an app and a widget that tells the time in beats, but there is an issue with the widget. It sometimes shows a few minutes behind.

Response from developer

Indeed. That’s a limitation due to the way Apple Widget works.
