A great survival horror game that plays great on iOS

I have been a fan of this game since it’s initial release around 2014, and have replayed it almost every year (around Halloween of course). I’ve played it across multiple platforms, on Xbox/PS4, PC and even the Switch (I wanted to play it while on vacation). It’s hard to compete with the PC version but this port on iOS is phenomenal if you have reasonably new iPhone or iPad and a backbone controller, or just connect a console controller. Obviously using touch screen controls is not ideal, but I don’t think you should expect to go into a game released on consoles ported to iOS to have that be the preferred option.
The games atmosphere and visuals are kept entirely intact, and the game runs perfectly fine and looks amazing on my M1 iPad Air as well as my iPhone (that is currently the latest model). I can’t speak to how it runs on older devices however, but considering how the Nintendo Switch is able to run a reasonable looking port of it, I would expect it might run just fine on the performance mode on some older iOS devices if you change the Video settings appropriately.

Amazing this is running on my iPhone!

Really great and great experience on an iPhone too!

I would just suggest the developers ad a message to let you know when you’ve gone as far as you can go in the free version. I got stuck looking for a way through. for ages before I realised I would need to buy the full version.

Great game, not used to touch controls

I have this game for PS5, never played it and saw there was a port, running on 15 pro max it’s great. The darn alien gets getting me, but I’m on level 10 on Medium difficulty. Regular controllers would be preferred but I figured it out enough to get this far so I’ll probably finish it if I am quiet enough. Overall love it but the only thing I would critique is how fast you can look around, it simply isn’t fast enough to spot the alien or look around at enemies. You have to constantly flick to look around and end up dead usually. Just speed up the response rate in the options and it would be great!

Amazing port but suddenly it’s free?

I paid full price for the app when it was paid and I have no clue if I still have the full version I paid for, or if I have to pay for it again.

Response from developer

A recent iOS update allows new players to try the first two levels of the game for free. This does not affect previous purchasers of the game who already have access to all game content. There is no requirement to purchase again if you have bought the game previously. If you are having issues accessing all content, please go to Options > DLC Management from the main menu. If you are still unable to download the DLC, please also ensure that there is no blockage of in-app purchases, via your device's Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions and ensure this is not enabled. If you continue to have any issues, please email our support team via support@feralinteractive.com and they will be happy to help.

I’m absolutely floored.

This game is undoubtedly a masterpiece in the horror game genre and, just like the Nintendo Switch with Tegra X1, I’m even more surprised that this technical achievement of a port looks as well as run amazingly well on my iPad Mini 6 with A15 chip. 60FPS and roughly 1080p or higher is insane. There are still some framerate hiccups here and there when the game loads its assets but weirdly enough, when the lag starts happening and then you pause/unpause the game, the framerate restabilizes itself…most of the time. Other than that, I applaud the incredible wizards who designed and ported this game. It truly deserves a lot more sales support, recommendations and a sequel…maybe revive the Alien: Blackout game as a DLC and rework it in first person as the true ending of this marvelous game’s story.

Great on console, same on phone?

Hard To believe I’m saying this but alien isolation is maybe even more terrifying alone in the dark with your phone… and you can play it anywhere!
Just have for survival horror afficionados

I love Xenomorphs. ❤️❤️❤️

I Love the Alien franchise now since I’m playing Alien : Isolation , I got to say I love it the horror atmosphere of the game itself makes you feel like you’re in the actual movies the fear, the suspense, I love it .

The characters are awesome to get attached too let alone are memorable I also enjoy the crafting items in the game as well including using weapons .

I hope sooner or later you guys make another Alien game like this it’s worth playing at night time and during season of the witch.

Phenomenal game

I love this games atmosphere, it sure scared the h*ll out of me, I played the first two missions a while back and recently decided to give in to this masterpiece, I restarted the game and am going to take my time with a full play-through.

My favourite part about this games is how it looks and handles on my iPad, I even imagine older devices running this extremely well. The graphics look great for a 2014 PC game (ahead of its time honestly) and to remotely even have it to be able to run almost natively or if not is on an iPad, is amazing to me, even with the lowest settings on for the game, it looks clean and clear with beautiful visuals that are very detailed.
