This app only good on a phone

App Doesn’t Work Well

This app doesn’t work well for me. I can login on my iPhone but I can not edit my profile. Sun Outdoors has my address incorrect. In order to edit I am required to Contact them. Why? When I try to contact them, even when I check their terms and conditions box, the Submit button just spins and never goes through.

Also, this app is not compatible with my iPad. The screen is a smaller size, like it’s only for an iPhone. I cannot login on my iPad. The app doesn’t recognize my password. When I try to reset my password the app doesn’t recognize the verification code it sends to my email.

It’s frustrating that a large company like Sun Outdoors has an incomplete app.

Slow, cumbersome and very difficult to find monthly rates

I tried to send this review via the Sun website, but after watching their logo spin for 3 minutes, I considered sending my complaint by snail mail 😳😱📬. I have an engineering degree and I’ve worked in computer support and I still couldn’t get it to go through.

So let’s see if it’ll make it this way.

The site is soooo slow. Most campgrounds post their rates in a sheet format. I understand that your campgrounds might have dynamic pricing for different rates for different times of the years, but you could include that in a price sheet. It is so time consuming to have to use your reservation system to find out this information. I think I’ve made five calls trying to find out the monthly rate for various sun campgrounds over the past month. A process that normally takes a few minutes, takes hours with sun. Several of your call reps are kind and good at their jobs, but I’ve ran into a few that act like they can’t be bothered to help find something as important as a rate. I’m not saying I won’t be staying at sun campgrounds as a full time rver, but I will be checking the other 3-5 campgrounds that are usually available nearby each just because I don’t like to waste my time. Writing a comment email like this is a reflection of how much time I’ve already wasted planning the next year on your app and the monopoly that sun has on Florida campgrounds. My hope is that you make your app easier to use and quicker.

This app doesn’t work 90% of the time

I would be hard-pressed to find an app that’s worse in the Apple Store than this one. It never ever works. It always bombs out and you can never book a reservation and you wind up calling. Horrible

Most frustrating app ever!

Constantly logs me out. Then says wrong credentials. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled. Same results. When the app appears to have worked, checking “my stays” promptly asks for me to login again. Worthless

Search capability

I wish there was a way to search by lodging specifically by cabin type. I like certain cabins at the campground (lake in woods in Lancaster Pa) and would travel when those cabins are available but instead I spend too much type picking random dates to see if the cabin I want is available. Please add this feature: travel dates flexible and show lodging availability. Thanks!

Meanwhile, you can call the resort and a member of our team can check your chosen cabin for available dates (and help you make the reservation right then and there if you wish). We'd love to help you book your next vacation!

Won’t pull up our reservations!

This app worked fine for a few months and now the past 2 months it doesn’t show any of our future reservations or even the past ones! Sun Outdoors need to take some of their $ and invest some time in their app. I mean for as much as y’all are charging people for campsites, this should not be an issue. But personally your rates are absurd!

You can also call the specific resort you wish to visit as well.

My husband and I are new to “big coach RVing. (Full Time) Not new to camping! We bought our coach in 21 and realized that to get a spot in Florida for Winter months is very hard. So we started calling every camp ground. Well we called compass, which is now Sun properties. The lady we talked to was Robin. She said oh we have a site for one month we can offer. We said great we will take it. A couple months later she called and said we have an opening for two more months. You have to move though. We said that was fine. Before going to Florida I sent an email requesting pictures of the site we were going to. Oh I can’t do that as we are not sure where your going yet! Really! You said you had a cancellation would it not be the site people cancelled? My husband and I have to make sure that these sites will accommodate a 40 foot DP. No more response. We get down there to begin our first month and my husband said where is our other site after one month. Oh that’s 3. We said okay. We went and looked at site and it was under tons of trees, unleveled lot. ( the motorhome on the lot when we walked to see site had its front wheels off the ground.). A BIG NO NO! Took photos!
So we went back to the office and tried to talk to them and we where met with sorry that’s the only site. We said it was unacceptable for a big rig. Pretty much said tough!!! I wrote a letter to corporate office about our concerns and nothing for quite some time. Then one afternoon. We get a call from “the big corporate guy saying he wants to talk to us”. We said great maybe they are taking our concerns seriously! Ha! When we go there, we said someone from corporate office wants to speak to us. They said oh yes he will be here in a minute if you want to wait outside.
So we go outside and big corporate man was sitting in his big truck right next to us, gets out with his ten gallon hat, cowboy boots and the attire to go with it! ( at first glance reminded me of Haus on Bonanza)
For his sake we will call him Tex!
This man evidently has a power complex. Instead of saying we are sorry you are concerned about the site we have for you, he says and I quote” we can make you leave if you continue to make waves and threaten our workers “. WHAT! Is this guy for real! I told him he should be ashamed of coming here and threatening us! He said that’s the only spot we have. My husband said we asked for pictures ahead of time and Robin said they couldn’t send because not sure of site yet. Then he says you should have locked in your site! I said really! Lock in a site the Robin said we don’t have yet? That makes sense! Needless to say this “new Sun properties does not care about us or any other camper that comes through gates except the outrageous price they charge you! They are gouging people horribly! Over 2,000.00 a month. That’s in the ghetto side. The Oasis!!! They get 3,000.00. Then we found out they are going up 700.00 more a month next year!!!
Greedy, Greedy people. We had booked another 3 months for following year before all that happened, but cancelled!!! There is a whole lot more to this situation I can share, but because I have an attorney looking at this I will say no more. Although we made some good friends while there and they either experience these issues themselves or talked to others about their disgruntled time at this place. They aren’t staying at a Sun Property again either. I have all my documentation from Robin, and my documentation I sent. If I was a camper I would not stay at this place. We will boycott any Sun properties from here on out. Won’t give my hard earned money to thieves! I hope others heed this warning. This is a transient campground! Most people don’t stay there long. Stop over and out. Never saw so many people come and go. Not a relaxing place. No more, never again!!!
