  • Game is very low quality

And there are no available players for online and the ai to play against is too easy
  • Not very good

The game is too easily won by placing the beetle on the Bot’s Queen Bee and then just placing your pieces around the Bot’s Queen Bee before it can do anything to your Queen Bee. This renders the entire game pointless and repetitive. A waste of money as the Bot needs to be better and/or vary its play. Also, when you’ve won the app doesn’t appear to realise and you have to quite the game. Why? All in all a bit unsatisfactory and a waste of money. Would not recommend.

  • Needs a lot of work

Waste of money. Don’t buy. I’m new to the game. Was introduced by a friend to the actual game. Bought this to be able to play and practice. Quickly overwhelmed the AI with the same strategy and won 4 consecutive games. Got bored. Also, no win/loss tracker. Have to “quit” a game that is over (and it asks if your sure…really?). And have to pay a monthly fee to play with other piece in a game that needs work on the basics. When I went to play online, no one available. It’s just not worth the price for a game that needs a lot of work.

  • Very Disappointing

I wish I had read the reviews before spending $4 on this. Problems have been listed for over a year.

    1) AI is very stupid - five year old level.
    2) no Online play - feature promised by developers.
    3) no way to play black vs AI
    4) recurring charge per month- really? For a limited App that is seeing no updates.

  • Ideas

Love the game. I wish there was more options and difficulty levels
  • AI is juvenile and sub par

I think most people found this app because they know or have played the game. In a comparison between this digital version and the physical one, this app is a great alternative to save money instead of purchasing the physical copy only if you’d like to play with other people even if the physical game is great to own in of itself. However, if you are looking at this app for the AI benefit, which I am, save your one dollar. The AI has the same exact opening moves and blatantly lacks any sort of strategy or even decent game play. Because of this it can barely be called an AI if not at all. Please don’t get me wrong I love that there are people out there looking for and making AI bots for this game but in this case specifically its hard to tell if the developer actually cares about the game or is only trying to make a quick buck. Especially considering that you need to pay a MONTHLY subscription to use the pill bug, lady bug, and mosquito in your games. I hate to be so crude and rash but I really think that all this app needs to be truly good is a proper AI vs player game mechanic as well as the expulsion of the monthly fee for the extra bugs. Consider buying the physical copy as well and support the true creators of the game, its a very fun game to own and play irl.

  • A subscription to use all the pieces?

I should have read the fine print. Now I feel ripped off.
  • Needs Work

It is rough around the edges. The 0.99 cent monthly subscription is silly and I would certainly rather pay a one time fee. The AI is laughably easy, and there is no game analysis functionality. The tournament rules option is a nice touch but no one practicing for a tournament would play on an app which doesnt have game analysis functionality. I understand the developer is working on it. Im excited to see more features and a different approach to monetization in future updates.

  • Subscription is a deal breaker

The base game app is quite adequate for $1, but a subscription for the expansion pieces is… not acceptable… I would happily buy the expansion, but I will not deal with another subscription that I have to manage canceling when I drop actively playing the game.
  • Good not great

No back button for mistakes and you have to quit the game after game ends, wassup with that??
