Misleading

This app is clearly meant for those who already have a working knowledge of the language. Not only useless for beginners, but might even push them away.

Response from developer

This app is called "Biblical Greek Dictionary" and provides basic glosses for common words. Along with activities that are designed specifically for people using a Biblical Greek textbook.

Incomparable

Amazing for parsing so much that I’ve not even looked at the dictionary.

Gibson and Campbell parsing quiz review

Unfortunately there are quite a few errors in the vocab parsing quizzes, which needs a full edit. I was going to use this for my students, but it would be too frustrating sifting out the mistakes. It could be a useful tool if there was an overhaul of its accuracy.

Response from developer

Thank you for the feedback. I will double check the the lists against the textbook.

LOVE it, but…

I still give the app 5 stars because it’s utility has been phenomenal for me. However, there are many words that I have encountered in the bible (in Greek of course) that are not in this dictionary.

I would also love to see a study feature that tests your knowledge of words, meaning, and pronunciation.

Missing participles

When I looked up ποιηθεντα, there was not even a mention of participles…

Response from developer

Thank you for the feedback. The app only contains forms of words that appear in the Greek New Testament plus supplemental words I have entered. Perhaps one day we can add more forms.

Don’t color not good

Not sure why but people who create apps seem to be wanting to be artists. The main font in this app is faint blue. Does anyone think someone will not have great eyesight. Same with this form the boxes for tittle and review are barely visible to me and I have nearly 20/20 vision. As a consequence I can barely use it.

Second, instructions in app would be helpful. If they are there I don’t readily see them.

Helpful

Great app. One bug I found is in the parsing drill section, it mistakenly says that έλυον is only imperfect, active, indicative 1st person singular, but doesn’t accept 3rd person plural as a correct answer, even though it’s the same form. Hopefully they get that fixed! 🙏🏻

Such a blessing

Biblical Greek has been such a blessing for me!! Thanks so much!

Incredible

This is possibly the best app out there for Koine Greek, thankyou to the developer!

Study and review

Great app to quickly look up words and to sharpen your knowledge with the vocabulary drills. Love it and want one for Hebrew as well.
