  • Can’t love the app that I wish I could.

The way this app forces the device into portrait mode reduces its convenience on the iPad — and the lack of contrast between the background color and text color on most of the buttons makes it difficult to use on an iPhone (as it makes the button labels harder to read on the limited size of even the largest iPhone screens.)

Fix one of these problems for four stars — and both of them for five.
  • Doesn’t save your song info

The app was great at first until I discovered that while writing on the phone app, if you write or change song lyrics and happen to open another app on your phone such as getting a phone call, you come back later and all your updates are gone. I’ve lost my trust in this app and will be deactivating my membership.
  • Works as intended—great songwriting tool—but audio crackles a lot

Very useful and great for finding chords and trying out different progressions. The audio just crackles a lot for me like the sound quality is too much for the ios system to handle playing at full quality. I’m on an older device that maxes out at ios 12 so that might be the problem, but still wish it didn’t have to crackle so much and would be fine with lower quality sound if that would fix it. It’s not like I’m using this as a sound source to actually record; again just using it for songwriting purposes. And for that, it’s really good. Plus free, so not that I can complain too much about the crackling either.
