1.1.8

October 5, 2023

Features We're excited to introduce a change aimed at enhancing the card viewing experience for mobile players. In response to player feedback, we've added a new option in the gameplay section of settings called "Tap to View Card." When activated, this feature brings several improvements to the game to make reviewing cards more user-friendly: Tap to Zoom: Say goodbye to the tap-and-hold method for zooming in on cards in your hand, city, meadow, or pop-ups. With "Tap to View Card" enabled, simply tap on a card to zoom in. Center-Screen Zoom: Zoomed-in cards will now appear front and center on your screen, providing a clear and immersive view. To dismiss the card, just tap anywhere outside of it. Streamlined Interactions: We've optimized various interactions that used to require clicking on a card to prevent any conflicts with the new tap-to-zoom functionality. Bug Fixes Now, only online games add to Competitor and Seasoned Competitor Achievements. We fixed some issues with layering and clipping when dragging cards or workers around the playmat. We increased the hitbox for your city when dragging a card to it and releasing the card near the city’s edge. Community Bug Fixes Our gratitude goes out to the Everdell community for helping us identify the following bugs which are now resolved: We fixed a bug where the player gains Shopkeeper's berry when playing the Fool to another player’s city. We fixed a bug so that Crane and all other cards properly reset their occupied status when discarded. We fixed a bug so that 2 Rangers cannot occupy a city when Dungeon is played. We appreciate your continued support and dedication to making Everdell a place with fewer bugs than critters. Keep the feedback coming, and happy gaming!

In this patch, we're introducing an optional new method for placing workers on mobile devices, along with a range of bug fixes to enhance your gaming experience. Additions Added support for an optional new method of placing workers on mobile devices. Users can now place workers in two taps instead of using drag functionality (which is still supported). Bug Fixes Fixed an issue where occupied constructions remained occupied when discarded, shuffled, and drawn again. Improved the accuracy of timer tooltips. Fixed an issue where skipping the "Discard cards to draw 2 per" Forest location caused the placement to be undone. Users can no longer accidentally drop workers in locations they couldn't see behind their player HUD. Fixed an issue where cards could be played to the city without being dragged to the correct drop area. Resolved a softlock that occurred when simultaneously pressing the right and left mouse buttons. Fixed visual issues that could occur when Rugworts played too many cards. Cancel option is now available when making a selection of paired Harvester and Gatherers. Various fixes for non-English localization translations.

Description of Everdell

From Everfrost to Bellsong, many a peaceful year has passed in Everdell — but the time has come for new territories to be settled and new cities to be established... Adapted from the award-winning board game from Tabletop Tycoon, Everdell is a fantastical city building game combining worker placement and strategic card play to create a new civilization. Gather resources to build fanciful Constructions and recruit colorful Critters to make your city thrive. Each card in your city scores points, and after four seasons have passed the highest-scoring city wins! Face off against other founders in cross-platform multiplayer games, or test your civic wits with AI play and Solo Challenges! On each turn, you'll take one of three actions: 1.) Place a Worker. Send one of your helpful workers out into the valley to gather resources! Berries, Twigs, Resin, Pebbles...and of course Cards! You'll need them all to help your new civilization grow. 2.) Play a Card. Your city can hold up to 15 Construction and Critter cards. Cards generate resources, open up new abilities, and score points to win the game! Discover combos and synergies to race past your opponents. 3.) Prepare for the Next Season. When the seasons change, your workers come home and get ready for the next round. But plan your city carefully! After four seasons, the Winter Moon returns and the game will end. There are buildings to construct, lively characters to meet, events to host— you will have a busy year ahead of you! Will the sun shine brightest on your city before the winter moon rises? Welcome to Everdell!

Reviews of Everdell

  • Great game

I fell in love with the physical game, and love that I can have it mobile. The one thing I would love is an option to choose a random challenge to play. The solo play option is good, but gets a little boring after a while, and I’m not consistent enough of a player to play the online options with other humans, but the challenges offer just enough pressure to be a much better option than solitaire. Would just be nice to have a random button that chose one.

Hey there, Thanks for your feedback! We are continuously looking for ways to improve and have sent your feedback to our team! Thanks
  • Worker placement & UI can be fussy

The app really is great. Placing a worker can be a bit finicky, and you can accidentally lock yourself into some actions by mistake. Other times the UI in menus can be difficult to use. Particularly when you are using arrows to increase or decrease resources for abilities - the hit box for the arrows are very small and sometimes you have to try for a long time to get a tap to register. I’m playing on an iPhone 13 when I run into this, so it may just be my small screen
  • A work in progress

This is my favorite table top game and the port here is overall great. It looks beautiful, the animations are well done, and it’s nice to have music and sound effects to give life to this world. I LOVE the challenges. They provide some much needed variety of game play to the base game and are genuinely challenging. Being able to play other people in real time is great though the ranking system could be improved. Currently you gain points for how many games you play and it would be nice earn points for beating higher ranked players.

The development team has done a great job of dealing with bugs and there are rarely issues with glitches.

Regardless, I’m so glad to have an Everdell app and I can’t wait for the expansions to be added.
