  • Nonfunctional compared to website

This app lacks basic functionality that is available on the website, namely:
    1) You cannot become a paid subscriber of a person/org through the app
    2) The app does not show you all the tabs of a news outlet on their page (but the equivalent mobile webpage does show this). Example: I want to watch a specific show from a specific news outlet. On the website, there is a tab with the name of the show, where all posts are available in order. On the app, you have to dig through all posts from the org in order to find the posting of the show that I want.
    3) (More of a gripe with Substack in general, this issue exists on the website as well): Sometimes a whole episode of a news show will show up in a post. I see the timestamp says it will last for 40 minutes. After clicking on it, it brings me to a 2 minute preview since the episode is only for paid subscribers. If that is the case, let me know before clicking on it

  • A bit of nuancing?: Job losses during COVID.…

…were inevitably due to the onset and vicissitudes of the worldwide pandemic…though also exacerbated by President Trump’s genuinely clueless and confused leadership choices…particularly the belief that people needed to “not be too alarmed” in the face of a deadly disease that we (and he moreso) knew nothing about…a paternalistic error (that is, his assurances would protect us more that judicious scientific work). Cost us how many lives??!
Kudos to Trump that he listened to whomever urged him to spend $$$$$ to get us vaccines.
The “inflation” now seemingly blamed on Biden, was largely and necessarily sparked worldwide by the various efforts to keep ourselves alive and outrun the ravages of COVID…lots of $$$ spent by both Trump and Biden administrations
My take is that we lagged behind other countries in managing the disease; probably helped the world lots in vaccine production and distribution; outdid other modern countries in finding financial stability in the face of inevitable inflation.

  • So slow

I love the app but why’s the app so slow?? All other apps I’m on are usually quick but this one’s so slow to open and load
  • Can’t update, can’t open

Great app right until now. When opening I’m told to update, and can’t use it, however when tapping update the App Store tells me that it isn’t available in my country/region.
  • The most AUTHENTIC awakening reliable media channel ever

Authentic quality journalism that brings THE TRUTH that has been distorted by other mass media channels and platforms for way too long. I’m on a monthly subscription and worth every single penny!
  • Great way to get all the information

Substack is a great app that allows you to access all your content from one app.
  • Great insight

I caught you on Brian Tyler Cohen ( Midas network ) on the weekend. I really enjoyed your analysis and breakdown of the current Trump situation. Planning to become a subscriber because of how impactful your comments are. I will be recommending to friends and family. Keep up the great work. The world needs more folks like you that can articulate issues of the day.

  • Refreshing and real (no reels!)

How refreshing to have a space without depressing content and revolting comments. And every second post is not suggested or sponsored. Real content by real people. App is layout well and you choose what you see not the app.
  • Get into Substack because

This is where the truly brave people are.
  • App review

Why are people reviewing individual Substacks here? Anyway, my review of the app is “could be better”. I only really use the inbox tab, but recently discovered if you have notifications switched off for any subscriptions then you won’t see them here either, which seems daft. So your choices to find out about new posts from a subscribed Substack are email notification, push notification, or go to each Substack individually and look there. None of these are ideal as the notifications quickly get annoying once you have a few subscriptions.
