Not what it used to be, but still a fun game.
I was so excited to repurchase this when I saw it’s back! In many ways it is the same game, but in one crucial aspect it isn’t: The difficulty.
The hard levels used to genuinely be hard. I tried many different strategies and failed over and over again to beat them. Now they’re all just… easy. Feels like I don’t need strategy at all. 10+ years ago I spent hours trying to strategize through this. Now I just burned through the whole game with little challenge. And no, it’s not because I got smarter lol.
I also noticed there used to be creeps that were immune to various kinds of weapons (which would force you to think out of the box and adapt to new strategies) which have been removed from the game, further simplifying it.
The nostalgia is great. The game WAS fantastic. But the rework is not faithful enough to recommend again.Show lessBekahLL
One of my favorite mobile games reborn!
GeoDefense was one of my favorite games in the early days of iOS, and I’ve searched for years for another tower defense game that matched it. This remake is spot on for the original, and if you liked that, you’ll like this.

I adored this game 15 years ago. So perfect. It felt magical.
And it still feels magical! However, overall most levels are 75% less challenging than they used to be.
I just played one of the final “Hard” levels and no critters lasted longer than a half second because the towers destroyed them immediately.
I hope the developers take notice. The original game was challenging. It may have been a little too hard! But as it is now, it’s so easy it’s not a challenge, and not fun to play.
Maybe I’m just a genius now, older, wiser. But I doubt it, it’s just very, very easy.

Nice but too easy and not enough levels
Nice game and worth the small fee, but way too easy. The level rating is messed up as most hard levels are actually pretty easy, including the final one. You will quickly blast thru the levels and have fun doing it, but that's it. Needs more levels and more thought given to difficulty.Pine Apple Pie
Almost what I remembered.
Game seems really good, but 2 hard levels need to be tweaked. The Eye can be beat with 1 lvl 1 laser, and Resistance is Futile can be finished with 1 lvl 7 laser. I wish you would add a switch to make it run until you lost all lives, instead of just finishing the levels. More levels would be nice too. Bad scaling for ipad. Doesn't honor previous purchase
I'm glad that this still exists in some form. It has been one of my favorite tower defense games going back 15 years.
That said, all the levels can be beaten within several hours, and the replayability is minimal. I would really like to see more levels. If the dev could allow users to create and share new levels, or submit new levels that could be added under a custom game difficulty, it would be incredible! A Tower Defense Classic Reborn - GeoDefense
I absolutely love this game and am so excited it's back on the App Store! I originally played GeoDefense many years ago and it has remained one of my all-time favorite tower defense games. The developers did an amazing job revamping it for iOS - the graphics and gameplay are just as great as I remember.
Installing this game immediately brought back waves of nostalgia. The vector graphics are simple yet striking, and truly capture the old-school vibe. The towers offer a great variety of strategic options to counter enemies. With 30 increasingly challenging levels, this game keeps me coming back again and again to try and beat my high score.
Kudos to the developers for reviving this classic so skillfully. Five stars for sure - I would absolutely recommend GeoDefense to any fan of tower defense games looking for a blast from the past!Show lessgthomasc

That said, the graphics haven't been upscaled well, despite it being a simple 2D vector graphics, and it is missing the option for scaling up time.
Furthermore, having purchased geodefense previously, restore purchases does not work and all but 3 of the levels are locked behind a paywall - I would consider paying again if actual improvements had been made, but for the most part they haven't. The game is clean, clever in its descriptions, and has a nice unique graphics ambience. However, it’s just way too simple. There are only 5 types of towers, and on most levels either blue or red tower spam will make it absurdly easy. I just played all the way through and just didn’t feel challenged on any level. I don’t consider myself to be particularly good at TD games, I think GeoDefense is just too easy. Even the “hard” maps are almost mindlessly easy. It would be very simple to create a “hard mode” where creeps had 1.5x health, or moved slightly faster, or where your max lives were reduced to 1. Not a bad game, 3 stars for sure, but not the best investment of time or money.Show lesslegallyblake
Not quite as good as it used to be
Some of levels are stupidly easy. Like the only way you could fail some of these levels is to fall asleep. (Resistance is Futile being the worst). In the old game you could link the level 7 shock towers which was the coolest thing you could do. But not now. Still it’s fun to play.banana vendor
