Login failure loop

Epic Games login wound up endlessly looping confirmation screens and verification prompts. Incredibly frustrating.

Make sure your data is backed up before you update

I updated the app to the current version. Doing so logged me out of the app. When I logged back in, all of my data in the app had disappeared. Epic Games has provided a pathetic and totally inadequate level of support. The raw files are still available in the File folder of my iPhone but I can’t work with anything in the app like I could before I updated. This is a good example of “if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.” I wish I hadn’t updated the app.

Need to login

One needs to log into an account before they are able to do anything with the app. This isn’t explained in the description and we aren’t told why it’s required. App deleted.

Can’t link account

Couldn’t tell you if the app is good because it just gets stuck in the link Epic Games account screen. No matter how many times I try to allow permission the app is just stuck on that screen.

Cannot start the app

Could not link it with Epic games account click the button but nothing happens. Epic account is fully functioning so problem is with the app. Now deleted.

What gives?

I find it odd that it defaults to asking you to sign into your epic games account, but alright, I proceeded. After that, it said my email and password are incorrect. I checked on the PC and sure enough, my password and email worked fine. I tried about 6 times and it kept saying my credentials were incorrect.

I tried a secondary epic games account, same thing happened. I even created a new account using the app, but no luck. It then provides other methods, such as signing into Google and a few others (these are secondary options to the epic games option). Xbox and Nintendo were also options for logging in.

Honestly, I find it really sketchy. It should work and sign in fine, my credentials were correct. There’s no way I’d trust logging into my email through this app, and maybe you shouldn’t either. Time to change my epic games password.

I signed into my epic account, and it turned to a black screen with a rotating white loading wheel. First, I quit the app, then I reinstalled it, and to my amazement. As soon as I opened, it, goes straight back to the same black screen with a white loading wheel. I haven’t even seen anything inside the app yet.
