Decent start to this app, but needs updates

The app as I mentioned is off to a decent start, but it could use some updates for the following.

1.) when using on an iPad in particular, it could benefit from being in landscape mode. In portrait mode its not ideal for iPad to be in, and also if you cast to tv like I do, it would be nice if it filled the entire screen.

2.) Actions - You can continuously take actions which to new people playing may confuse them into thinking they can take more actions because the app lets you.

3.) movement - It appears you can keep moving around as much as you like. It should limit to what dice can give you and only be more if a spell has been used to allow extra movement.

4.) New Knight - the commander of the guardian knights need to be added in. Some have already gotten their characters so this app will need to keep up with the releases as best it can. I’m rather excited to try the knight!

The rest overall is fine and again if you come from playing Heroquest and rules you can overlook the issues above and actually help keep things honest with your party.

This app again is off to a great start, and I am sure future updates will help polish and enhance gameplay. Looking forward to the next app update!

Response from developer

We have added Tablet Landscape mode in V 1.3. Toggle this feature on in the settings menu and let us know if this improves the app experience for you.  We really appreciate your request for digital tracking and an app-enforced play approach. For launch, the traditional character sheet tracking was intended to free up any non-app players to directly manage their hero - if only one player maintained control of the app for the table. Movement is left open to account for potential equipment modifiers tracked outside of the app (extra Movement die roll for example). In order for Zargon to properly enforce movement, full hero equipment tracking is required forcing all players into the app-tracking method. It's great though, to get a strong vote for this play method! Thanks again for the feedback. Please stay with us as we keep improving the app with updates!

Dig It!

I’m enjoying the app. Voice work and sound effects are great! Looking forward to all the new content hopefully on the way

Great companion app, pity no landscape view

Great little app with appealing design and sound effects. Finally all my players of the board game can play as heroes and vs the computer. It would be nice to have a landscape view so that you can view on your ipad or tv so that all players can view

App seems really good, but no landscape mode

Please give us a landscape mode, I assume most people would use landscape mode on an iPad in its stand?

Outstanding

This is amazing but is there any chance you can make it so that I can play the game versus the computer?
That way I can play when I’m out of the house :)

AI too simple

I think it’s great, but the AI just pushes monsters at the heroes. AI doesn’t need to be that dynamic but it’d be better if monsters in a room coaxed heroes to enter instead of lining up one at a time next to the door. Our party learnt to game the AI pretty quickly. The app’s sound stopped working.

Great app for a great game

Great companion app for one of my favorite board games. Works as expected allowing for solo play or for all players being able to play without the need of a game master. I really hope Hasbro/Avalon Hill continues to release expansions for the game and continues to build out this app. But off to a great start!

Works on iPhone but not on iPad Air.

Had a few problems getting it to run on my iPhone se version 14.4 but after shutting down all apps and rebooting it seems fine. A little bit of a learning curve. Got software update tonight so well see then.
My iPad Air 12.5.5 I just get a black screen. Would prefer using it on a bigger screen.

Won’t start up

Got this thinking it would at least work. Instead, the program shows a black screen for about ten seconds and the crashes back to home screen.

I may have an older model that runs OS 12.5, but the app says it runs on 11 or better. Consider this to be me not recommending the app.

Edit: Per request by the developer, I am using an iPhone 5 with an OS of 12.5.5. I am glad that they are willing to look into the issue.

Sound?

Most of the app works wonderfully, but there’s no sound of any kind when there ought to be. There are options to adjust volume, but I get nothing.

EDIT: I deleted the app and reinstalled. It works fine now. The mute switch was not toggled before and I had iOS 15.1 installed. Dunno what happened, just glad it works now.
