NO REWARDS FOR USERS

Gener8 should have never made their app accessible/available to its users in the United States if no rewards for our data!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like literally how brain dead and narcissistic would the Gener8 team would have to be to actually think ethically/morally think that should be acceptable. I assumed that rewards would be available shortly after downloading and using the app since i thought it was a new app but when I read some comments from a couple years back and still no rewards. They say they don’t know exactly when rewards will be available for years now. Gener8 has the audacity to collect our data and not actually know when rewards will be available to its users. Luckily I only have using the app for only a couple of months but I will not be investing my time into the app anymore. I will not be using Gener8 again until I receive absolute Confirmation that rewards will be available to its users in the United States. There are other apps like Gener 8 I have been using for a few years I invest time in that actually pays you for your data!!!!!!!!!!!

While rewards are currently limited outside the UK, we do highlight this in the Rewards section of the app. For now, US users can donate points to charity or save them for when we fully launch rewards in your region, which we hope will be soon! Pointless

This isn’t a app for people in the US I saw someone say if we can’t get the rewards from the app then why is it available for us to download in the first place n I completely agree. Now I have given my personal information up for basically no reason… Simply take it off American platforms net time ORR have people give out their location FIRST before trying the app so we can know whether or not we qualify for rewards. This was a waste of my time. Anyways if anyone’s reading this use Caden. It’s slower but you will ABSOLUTELY get your money.

Won’t let me delete my data

I downloaded this to try. In its current form it is not really useful at all. You are just voluntarily giving your data to another company for free and not getting anything off value back in return.
As well as this, when I attempted to delete my account and remove my data, it refused to allow me to.
I believe that Google also revoked this companies access to the Google account data earlier in the year over concerns that they were harvesting and then selling people’s private data.
In theory, an interesting concept. In practice, it appears to only benefit the people running Gener8, with little to no benefit to anyone volunteering their data to them.

I also wanted to pick up on a couple of other points you made, because trust is really important to us. Everything we do is centred around empowering people to be able to control and earn from their own data. We even established a trade body for the sector, called CODE, that represents 30+ companies and we work closely with the European Commission and UK Government on topics of data access and data privacy. “BEWARE; or, Great job, Tricky McGee!”

it wasn’t until after i had spent a considerable amount of time connecting google accounts, entering a ton of personal/sensitive info, etc. etc. that the app decided to notify me that it’s not available in the US… and i would bet my life that wasn’t an accident. so technically, they still aren’t paying for my data, they manipulated me into handing it over for nothing. and that’s putting it euphemistically—they stole my sensitive, valuable data.

Can’t wait

I’ve been waiting a while for this app to be available in the u.s but I feel like with the way everything going in the world it will never happen. I’m about to just move countries.

Promises a lot but fails to deliver

The concept is brilliant. Take control of our own data and make something from it. But in action it’s very hard to redeem the app currency for anything of value. Real time rewards are gone within a second of being available, simply isn’t fit for the scale they’re looking for. Lots of the offers you see are plastered all over social media already, so it adds no value to get first order free here on this app, when it’s available on Facebook for the same value. Unique deals would be better along with a realistic number of gift cards available. Perhaps offer every app user the chance of a gift card each week and they must choose one. That pool of people should then have to react quicker than the others who chose the same gift card. Rather than opening it to every user every gift card.

Good concept, flawed execution

The idea is sound: get some value from your data rather than letting all the benefits go to retailers and advertisers.

Unfortunately, Gener8 doesn’t really live up to this promise. In return for handing over your data to them, what you mostly get is a bunch of promotional offers/trials for products and subscription services (“first month free”, “50% off your first month” etc.) that you could get many other ways, often just by Googling. The few actual tangible rewards, such as gift cards, are issued in such limited quantities and at specific times of the week that very unlikely to be able to get them unless you’re on the app on the dot when they’re released, and you get lucky. The one that made me realise it really wasn’t worth it was a £10 Xbox gift card, being released later in the week. The quantity available…? Two. Yes, just two.

I’ll consider returning if they can come up with rewards actually worth my time and information. Until then, sorry Gener8 - you’re not offering enough to keep me.

Rewards are a shocker

The reason I’m calling out how bad the rewards are on this app is not because they’re virtually non-existent. They are quite bad. The amount of points you need to “bid” on anything of value equates to decades of use based on the points I accumulate. My main issue is that the “offers” you can redeem with your points are a total scam- they’re mainly offers that currently exist and are well known in the usual partner offers you get everywhere else. Expect the usual free case of try it beers/wines. XX amount off your first meal pre box etc… I claimed for a free bottle of beer on the app recently, when I got to the supermarket I found every bottle already had this offer advertised on it…

Rewards for the USA

Good app, just hope rewards are able to reach the USA and not just be limited to the UK.
