App Does Not Work

The app doesn’t work correctly to the point that it literally will not function even enough to be able to successfully complete a profile let alone then even attempt to do anything else. From the very start it forces you to create an account/profile and then uses a pop up webpage screen to then complete your profile before it lets you do anything further and the app will NOT let you scroll at all and even when attempting to tap as far down as possible to hopefully move the page down that way it still doesn’t work enough to get far enough and complete enough information to successfully complete the account creation screen. Additionally every time you attempt to close the app and reopen and try again it automatically forces any log in attempt to be account creation attempts instead which results in multiple error loading attempts before finally saying you have to complete a profile to continue which then of course will not let you do

I would absolutely recommend SkillCat to ALL my friends, family and neighbors who want to improve their resume with an appropriate certification. 25 years in residential construction, the last 17 independently so when I offer my referral I do it with every fiber of my being, so I don’t risk putting my name on anything but the best.……I believe the best lives here at SkillCat. Great App for EPA 608

I really enjoyed this app for my EPA 608. There were a few glitches here and there on the app but on the website it is pretty smooth. I enjoyed the video/PowerPoint aspect. I would also say one of the benefits of this app is that you can take the test multiple times and it also gets you ready for the test at the end of each section (Core, Type 1, Type 2, Type 3 (Universal)). One of the things that I wish they had more of are certifications. Since I’ve owned the app, they have done 2 updates, I like the fact that they didn’t just create an app and let it fizzle out.

All in all, I would recommend this app.

This App is beyond amazing

I spent most of my Time studying for the EPA Section 608 alone and it was very difficult. I took their Universal exam and failed it my first try with a 65. I took at again 5 days later and passed it with a 86. The knowledge I gained from just going through their courses helped me out a lot as well. I’d say they have a great system and it really helps you better understand not only the EPA laws and regulations but also how to do HVAC. I am grateful for this opportunity.

Good for learning but app stops working after free trial

The courses were decent enough, and the EPA certification was far faster than other sites. The problem is that unless you pay for the continuing service, you will be completely unable to access any of your certificates or diplomas you might have earned. The website says that downloading the app will allow you to access these certificates by logging in and viewing your profile. The app simply refuses to load past the loading screen that says “loading you profile”, however, preventing you from doing this. I have waited ridiculous amounts of time on the screen on multiple connections to test this, and even re-installed the app. To be clear, the programs were all decent enough that a few months subscription would have been worth it to me, if I needed more time to complete a course or two. I DID pay the $50 to get a physical EPA 608 card, so this is not saying that everything should be free. It can definitely be worth it. Having been in the trades for years, everything I experienced within the app while it was working shows me it is a worthwhile tool. Outside of a few videos not working, some errors in quizzes and tests where correct answers were marked incorrect, or very poorly worded, the whole experience was good. I am only saying that I would not expect to be able to access anything after your subscription ends, which could be a major issue.

It is 100% not our intention to keep anyone locked out of their certificates, and it does not have to do with whether or not a user has a subscription. Anyone with an account by default can view their earned certificates in the app. This may be a device-specific issue. Please reach out to us at info@skillcatapp.com so we can help you troubleshoot! We want to make sure you're able to view your certificates in the future if needed.

Incredibly great resource for HVAC

I just completed the EPA 608 Universal certification with the SkillCat app. The required knowledge is way more extensive than I expected. The app was great in presenting the material in easily digestible chunks and interjected quizzes along the way to test your understanding and prepare you for the certification test.

My primary use of this knowledge is prevent HVAC companies from overcharging me. I also will be able to perform routine maintenance on my systems.

This company IS approved by the EPA to deliver the 608 certification. Just google it. The online test seems very well controlled. You'll need to upload an ID and let your phone camera record you during the test. SkillCat reviews the completion. I received my digital certificate the next day.

Good app BUT..

Why does it take me through questions and quizzes and tell me I’ve answered incorrectly when I’ve answered correctly, and then explains to me the correct answer that is the answer that I had chose?? I have screen shots of this if you want to see. Also please change back whatever you changed in the update that won’t let you change orientation of phone screen it automatically tilts right now. I liked being able to tilt it left because if it tilts orientation to right I loose the check answer and scroll arrows to the outdent of speaker and camera on my iPhone screen.

Best “free” app but won’t let me continue learning.

SkillCat has been one of the best tools/learning guides that I have seen for the trade scene. I have been using SkillCat for weeks now and just recently started with the universal epa learning process, but can’t continue learning. SkillCat says they are gonna remain free until October, but is not currently free as of this moment. I love using SkillCat but just simply can’t afford the subscription. I would love to continue to use SkillCat if it was actually free until October or if SkillCat would help with the subscription that would be great!
