Save THOUSANDS w/ SkillCat
I recently started using the SkillCat app, and I am thoroughly impressed with its latest update. The app is now more user-friendly and intuitive, making navigation a breeze. This update has significantly enhanced the overall user experience.
One of the standout features of SkillCat is its tailored approach to user needs. The app offers a wide range of trade-specific certifications, including HVAC with the EPA 608 certification, electrical, and plumbing certifications and more. This makes it an invaluable resource for anyone looking to advance their skills in these trades.
What sets SkillCat apart is its affordability and convenience. There’s no need to spend a fortune on trade school when you can access high-quality, accredited training through SkillCat. The app offers a free trial, and after that, it’s only $10 a month. This is a fraction of the cost of traditional trade schools, making it accessible to a wider audience.
Overall, SkillCat is a game-changer for anyone pursuing a career in the trades. Its user-centric design, comprehensive certification options, and cost-effectiveness make it a must-have app for both beginners and seasoned professionals.

Good for learning but app stops working after free trial
Response from developer
Hi Domminigan - thank you for the detailed review, and for bringing this to our attention! It is 100% not our intention to keep anyone locked out of their certificates, and it does not have to do with whether or not a user has a subscription. Anyone with an account by default can view their earned certificates in the app. This may be a device-specific issue. Please reach out to us at info@skillcatapp.com so we can help you troubleshoot! We want to make sure you're able to view your certificates in the future if needed.
Good for learning but app stops working after free trial
The website says that downloading the app will allow you to access these certificates by logging in and viewing your profile. The app simply refuses to load past the loading screen that says “loading you profile”, however, preventing you from doing this. I have waited ridiculous amounts of time on the screen on multiple connections to test this, and even re-installed the app.
To be clear, the programs were all decent enough that a few months subscription would have been worth it to me, if I needed more time to complete a course or two. I DID pay the $50 to get a physical EPA 608 card, so this is not saying that everything should be free. It can definitely be worth it.
Having been in the trades for years, everything I experienced within the app while it was working shows me it is a worthwhile tool. Outside of a few videos not working, some errors in quizzes and tests where correct answers were marked incorrect, or very poorly worded, the whole experience was good.
I am only saying that I would not expect to be able to access anything after your subscription ends, which could be a major issue.
Incredibly great resource for HVAC
My primary use of this knowledge is prevent HVAC companies from overcharging me. I also will be able to perform routine maintenance on my systems.
This company IS approved by the EPA to deliver the 608 certification. Just google it. The online test seems very well controlled. You'll need to upload an ID and let your phone camera record you during the test. SkillCat reviews the completion. I received my digital certificate the next day.

Best “free” app but won’t let me continue learning.

Thank you for the review - please understand that the start date for charging for the app was October 10 2023 of last year, not this year.
