Free app but will not let me continue without paying.

I need this to be able to work for a job. I signed up for free but now I have to pay. I do not have the money to pay to use a free app for a job. The app states they will not charge until October 10th but it won’t let me continue without paying now. I have been using the app for two weeks and I am almost able to take my test but cannot due to having to pay now. I feel I have learned a lot and it is easy to navigate but I simply do not have the extra money to pay for a free app. In the fine print it said you can ask for assistance so that is what I am doing. I will write a new review once this is done.

Thanks for the review - please understand that the start date for charging for the app was October 10 2023 of last year, not this year.

No longer free but still worth it

Even though you gotta be subscribed to it, what you get in return is an amazing app that allows you to become not only EPA certified but gives you other tools and lessons to help you on your trade journey. My only issue with the app so far is that every time I get on, it tells me to subscribe, even though I already am, and I have to click the subscribe button to remove the notification. Beyond that, great app!

Best place to get your foundations online

Was looking for a online place to get the learn the foundations of the HVAC industry and get your EPA 608 certification. I found about this app after I paid $,$$$ and enrolled in a different online learning platform. I stoped using the other online school and I only use it this now. The simulations and short videos of the material really keeps me in interested. Much better than reading a book, answering questions, and falling a sleep.

The Very Best HVAC Learning Tool

I have worked in the HVACR industry for several years. The moment I began using SkillCat, my performance on the job began to tighten up, almost like loose shoe laces opposed to tightened laces. Everything came to me in a more sensible way. I recommend this app for anyone wanting to get into the industry to use as a full educational authority or to anyone already in the field to use as a guide. The app is extremely easy to use and within minutes you’ll benefit from using it. All that’s left to say is, “THANK YOU SKILLCAT”. I appreciate every course, every quiz, and everyone involved in creating this wonderful learning tool.

EPA 608

Thank you SkillCat team for making this training available, the course is well laid out and very thorough to prepare anyone for the final exam!! I have been wanting to get this certificate for many years but did not have the time to attend external training classes and testing. This app made it possible for me to complete the training at home, and pass the test for the Universal certification!

App based certification is the future!

As a long time software developer that also manages Data Center Infrastructure it was obvious to give Skill Cat a try for my certification. I was not disappointed! I took it seriously and In two weeks time I had my Universal certificate with about an hour/day scoring a 95%. I had some previous hands on experience which helped but SkillCat closed the gaps and got it done! Very happy to have achieved this goal.
SkillCat has developed a good product and I studied with the iPhone app switching to an iPad for the final exam for a larger screen. Experienced a few minor nuances but overall a great app and I’m sure it’ll continue to improve over time.

A Professional At home Tutorial

The program is awesome, gives great instruction to a novice A/c student. Bonus is the fast turnaround with quizzes and Exam. The proctor exam is a wonderful experience.
You must do self study and note review to be successful for the Universal exam.
About once every 10 seconds the camera of your face clicks.
It is a little awkward going to PT chart. But it works.

Amazing app

What more can I say - the title says it all. I don’t normally rate apps but these people deserve it. From time to time there are some minor glitches when taking quizzes. However, for what they offer - so what! They have hours and hours of HVAC training, including one section to learn the material for the EPA 608 Universal Certification. I learned the 608 material in a little under two weeks and took the free proctored exam through the same app. In less than a couple day, they confirmed I made a 96. Then for only 25$, I ordered the nicely laminated card to keep in my wallet, but of course they give you a free pdf file to download with your results. I could have just as easily printed it myself.

Great App! Highly recommended!

I’ve done training courses with a number of other online providers, SkillCat meets or exceeds their course standards with an app that does not aggregate data and at a price that cannot be beat.

Would love to see some additional certifications like NFPA 70e and more advanced renewable certifications, but I am blown away by this service so far. Kudos to the developers!!
