Bad and “free”

First misidentified the bug, then required payment for more attempts. “Free”…. You tricked me

Nope

I tried to see what type of grasshopper I found was. I entered the picture and it told me it was a Honey Bee. I then deleted the app.

Labeled most things as a wasp

This app is a great idea but it would need some serious work, I started by scanning a photo of a mound ant (Formica exsectoides) and it thought it was a type of wasp, I get that that could happen as they are somewhat related, however after more trials with different insects it never got anything right, and most of the time it just labeled things as a type of wasp, it even thought an American cockroach was a ground wasp. Overall I think this is a great idea for an app but until it’s more reliable as a tool to identify things then I would not recommend it.

Insect Identifier

Uploaded a pic of a caterpillar and instantly got an answer. WOW. So far I really like this app.

terrible

have it a picture of a spider, returned with a result of a six-legged bug. the ai is incredibly poor in this app

Horrible

On a blurry picture, it called my red stag beetle a monarch butterfly. I got it on a better picture and then it called it a Carolina grasshopper. We live in Alabama. this so-called app charges you real money for an app that doesn’t even work. I agree with some of the first ratings of it, calling a spider, a wasp and other insects completely different things. I completely understand if you mixed up species, but not entirely different animals.

Terrible

Don’t waste your time. This doesn’t work. Had a close up of a small beetle, said it was a bee. Took a photo of my coffee table, said it was a lady bug, then another time, a bee.

don't bother

I had some bugs on my rose plant, took some pictures and then i took the bugs put it in a ziplock bag, and i took few photos. one of the photos i took next to a penny, so after i downloaded the app, i used it to take a picture, now it does have an area of focus, so i made sure the bug is in that area and in focus, i took the picture, and it took only the penny part, AI my @#$&#$ , and it identified it as a red bug. since the app has an option to use already taken pictures, i tried (mind u that is the second attempt), it would not identify and it want to upgrade, otherwise it is as if i have done nothing. i tried few times and same , so I deleted it. waste of time. don't bother

Not sure how well it works

After downloading the app I tried to identify 2 insects. One was wrong and the other might have been right but unless you subscribe it doesn’t let you look at the results and provides nothing other than the insect name.

Thank you!

I’ve spent 5 minutes looking for an insect finder that didn’t cost money and I came across this which gave the answers I needed!
