  • Either glitchy or poorly programmed

Downloaded the other day, hoping it would be as much fun as BC1 & 2. was just about ready to pull the trigger on buying the ad-free extended version. Then the game crapped out when trying to watch an ad, upon coming back in, I was forced to start over. Completed the first chapter, tried to move on, didn’t work, crapped out again. So yea, nothing going, and no $5 forthcoming anytime soon.

Sorry, really liked the first two.

  • Not as good as the first two.

I was a big fan of the first two games in the series, but I think the third missed the mark with many aspects of the game. There is now a lot of misleading aspects of the puzzles and you don’t get as much in terms of more game content when purchasing the full version then you did in the first two. The soundtracks are also very repetitive and not engaging. it’s still fun enough, but definitely has room for improvement.

  • Screen keeps going black

Game looks great but constantly glitches and the screen turns black. I can still see the back arrow and the “bird view/human view” but everything else is black. If I close it and restart I have to do the whole level over again and sometimes it glitches a second time on the same level.
  • Love this game, EDIT: no glitch but hint is wrong

Love this game, and the series. Great diversion to just play the Room-esque puzzles without having to do a storyline and travel back and forth to different rooms and areas. They are simple in the beginning and become more challenging as you progress (and require more thought).

I am having a problem I saw mentioned in another review from this month (April 2024): In the Cyberpunk section L4, there is a box with four blue sliders. I checked the hint and apparently I am supposed to slide them all the way to the right, but they won’t go that far. They all stop short of the edge. EDIT: The hint is incorrect. The hint shows sliding the bars all the way to the edge and the two doors open. You cannot slide the bars all the way right or left; they stop short of the edge. Then you have to manually slide the doors open, unlike the way it looks in the hint (it seems automatic). Therefore, it appears stuck. But it’s not. The hint needs to be fixed.

A few people have complained about having to pay or watch ads. How do you think developers fund their game development??? I’ll happily pay $5 for a few hours’ worth of entertainment and excellent graphics. Better than 99% of the crummy 2-hour movie rentals lately!

  • Serious bugs

It kicks me out of levels. Then there are issues like the sliding pieces puzzle in level 3 of the steam levels- where the pieces are immobile and I can’t possibly solve it. I checked hints and walkthroughs to make sure I wasn’t missing anything; nope, just a bug. Very frustrating in a game that I paid for. For developers: I am on an iPad with updated iOS.

How am I supposed to understand what the scrambled pictures are supposed to be in the Egyptian cages? These faded drawings make no intuition sense. I’m not an archeologist, and these are not familiar images where you can tell where the pieces are supposed to go. The one I’m working on right now has squares that are blocked off in the center of the image. So what image am I even trying to make? Help it make sense y’all….

  • Keeps going black

The first 2 are my favorite games, with beautiful graphics. I was so excited when I saw the 3rd one was out I couldn’t hardly contain myself. Then disappointed. From the first, I will be playing and all of a sudden, without any warning it goes completely black with only the hint button, the view button showing and that is it. I have to close the game and reopen it, and start the level over. It happens to all the birds, and all levels, but so far the black bird is the worst. I look forward to bug fixes so this game works as well as the first 2.

  • Alright, not as good as what it’s trying to imitate

It’s not a secret that this game franchise borrows heavily from Fireproof Games’ The Room franchise, though even after three entries it continues to fail at basic things that Fireproof got right in the very first Room game.

For one thing, it doesn’t tell you what anything you pick up is, sometimes it doesn’t need to of course, but sometimes you’ll just pick up some weird little device and there’s just no way to even know what you’re looking at, and there’s also no way to examine things in your inventory, so half the objects in your inventory, you won’t even know what they are, and with no way to find out this invariably leads you to frequently just dragging everything in your inventory around the environment until you figure out where it was supposed to be used.

The hint system is not a hint system, it just shows you the answer to the puzzles.

I could go on about my issues but it is a free (mostly) game and the visuals, particularly in the latest entry, are rather impressive, so I can’t complain too much. Plus this is getting long enough as it is. These games just have a serious case of “stuck in their superior older brother’s” shadow syndrome.

  • Meh

I didn’t like this one nearly as much as the first two. I had to pay for hints because the puzzles were too difficult for me, and even with hints it was sometimes a crapshoot because I couldn’t really figure out what I was supposed to do.

    Developer Response

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We're sorry to hear the latest installment didn't meet your expectations. We'll consider your feedback on difficulty levels for future updates. If you have specific suggestions, feel free to share. We appreciate your input.
