Never gets passed the loading screen

I’m not able to get passed the first loading screen

Well put together - a few suggestions

So far I have made it past sky cathedral with a level 63 character. I can say the game is very fun and interesting… The art style is nostalgic and the combat is very very tough but fair. Certain play styles do seem to be easier than others (shield builds, Long range weapons) but nothing feels ‘weak’

However; I do have some quality of life gripes with touch controls and gameplay.

1) Add ability to cancel drinking animation with potion… i.e. dodge or block cancels the animation to drink a potion. I often find myself getting walloped mid boss fight when trying to drink a potion

2) add help menu with info on what things in stats menu etc. do… I.e. scaling on weapons/armor, what each stat does etc.

3) Buff slower weapons and short range weapons: currently the super heavy slow warhammers etc. are not worth it to use when they do ~15-20% more damage than a light speed sword… the ability to negate shields with the heavy weapons are cool but doesn’t help much in a boss fight.. I’d say 50-70% more damage would make these weapons more viable… in contrast the super short range weapons need to be faster attack speed imo and leave you less vulnerable so you can attack fast and escape, this would make these weapons more fun and interesting… maybe 20-30% faster attack speed would feel more intuitive and fair…

That’s all I got! Overall I have loved the game and though it has frustrated me, especially at certain ‘walls’ as I call them in difficulty it is a very well put together game especially for mobile.

Amazing game needs more recognition

If you like dark souls you will love this. Amazing graphics, polished and varied combat and great enemy and boss designs. Well worth the 7 pounds for the full game. This is my first review but I had to write it because this game needs more recognition.

too pricey

would be a 10/10 but hurt my wallet

2d Souls

A superb souls like side scroller. Can feel a little hard at the start but after a few upgrades to armour and weapons the game gradually opens up also the graphics are really good it’s very smooth and for the amount of game you get for the one of price for the full game is very generous.

Where the heck has this game been hiding

Holy moly, I never noticed this gem till today.

Great

Great game and controls the level design weapons and armour is also brilliant but the fact that you have to pay to continue the game I’d be fine with that but it’s £7

2d Souls with a killer art style

Imagine Dark Souls but with Castle Crasher/flash graphics. Enough said

L2D mobile souls like par excellence

Satisfyingly challenging combat. Some thoughtful diversity in combat styles. A bit of wholesome crunchiness in the gear/stat selection.
People are comparing this to Salt and Sanctuary, and dropping a star because of the minimal lore, but when this is the best 2D souls-like available on smartphones, that hardly seems a fair comparison.
Highly recommended.

A well made salt and sanctuary alternative

8 bucks for this game is a very fair price. Combat is decent, the game is well put together, I’ve only encountered 1 bug. When farming souls or whatever the currency is called. Sometimes the arrow marker will get stuck, and block the pause menu. A quick restart will fix it. Story isn’t really existent, just spawn in a tomb and kill things. You meet some side characters along the way. Wish the story and lore was more in depth. As far as a mobile salt and sanctuary style game. Really couldn’t ask for more. Developer did a good job cross utilizing the world map, regions are seamless, a lot of encouragement to explore. My main issue with the game, is you have to be aware of where your hands are, if playing with a touch screen, if any part of your hand is touching the screen when you try to do a command, it doesn’t register, or it spazzes out, and you’ll be rolling when you don’t want to be. Monster hunter freedom unite was the only mobile game I’ve played, that didn’t have that issue. All n all a great job done by the dev. Haven’t beaten the game yet, hit a wall with one of the bosses, which is what I like about a souls style game. Hoping there’s a ng+, will edit when I finish my first play through. Currently level 80. Update: Don't grind umbra! Made the mistake of farming, now I face tank everything.
