Not fun anymore
It’s just not fun. The card acquisition, the common decks, the lack of fun modes. Why is there always only two main decks to play against? There’s so many cards. I don’t care about meta, if something is too strong that a deck can’t counter it unless you make a deck specifically to do that then why aren’t the devs doing anything about it. It’s all the time though, each season. I try and play for fun, making my own decks, having a but of brain power behind it but they leave OP decks to ruin the variety for far too long. We’ve had Galactus, Alioth, Hela, Arishem, just simply trashing the entire game. I used to enjoy it, even with the brain dead decks that would become “meta” but it’s just a chore now. They make you feel like you have to keep playing to scrounge a new card each week or else you have to wait 6 months for it to appear again. I’m actually done now. It’s just not a fun game and not challenging enough. Who wants to play against the same decks all of the time with hundreds of cards to choose from. Balance your game

Used to be good, terrible
Marvel snap is a game which releases things overturned and nerfs them once they’ve milked every penny from you in typical mobile game fashion. Oh you’ve spent all your time grinding and creating a deck with a play style which you really like? That’s great! Your entire deck will completely change when they get hit with balance changes. It is incredibly difficult and egregious to progress in this game. The metas in this game are awful to play in and incredibly frustrating for anyone who doesn’t have the correct cards for the time. The acquisition of the newer cards is totally random and you don’t even get a new card most of the time, you will get 1000 tokens when the newer more powerful cards cost 6000. It is just a viscous nerf cycle like most mobile games. Alliances seem completely pointless and add nothing but a few more missions for you to grind and only be met with disappointment, the card customisation has not changed much at all, the best thing about this game are the variants which are obviously done by various artists who don’t work for the company lol. It’s usually full of bugs which makes navigation out of games tedious, gold acquisition is incredibly difficult as a free to play as well. Unless you’re willing to dip your hand pretty deep into your wallet monthly then I would avoid

Fun Gameplay, Bad Decisions
The overall gameplay loop is entertaining, and it can be fun to collect variants and customize the cards as well. The biggest issue this game has is that obtaining new cards is almost impossible without dropping ridiculous amounts of money on the game. Almost every cache you open after a certain point only gives small amounts of in game currency or variants for cards that are already owned. This paired with the matchmaking that will almost always pair you with someone who has cards that are far beyond what you have can take a lot of the enjoyment out of the game.
Another issue with the card acquisition is that series drops don’t happen nearly as often as they used to or need to. They continue to add series 5 cards making it harder and harder to obtain the cards players actually want, and they only drop around 3 or so cards from series 4 down to series 3 each drop cycle. It creates an ever expanding pool of cards with very limited ways for the player base to obtain them outside of spending 70+ dollars on a pack in the shop every once in a while.
Even with certain events (looking at you Deadpool’s Diner) the grind required to obtain even a single card is ridiculous for most of the average player base, and you can forget about the variants in those events.
Overall this game is in serious need of a new way to obtain cards so that the average player won’t have to spend money or waste entire days grinding just to get one card they want.

It Great But…
This game is really good. I have been playing for 2 years now and have been though enjoying it yet there are still a few things needed to be done. First of all and most importantly I think getting new cards should be a lot easier. Over the past 3 weeks I think I have only gotten 2 new cards. I think I should be at least getting a new card every week. Second, the grind to get collectors tokens is outrageous. For a series 5 card (which costs 6,000) takes months to save up to get that much, which by the time get all of those the card I want is already gone and unlikely to come to the shop for awhile. And Finally, please make the battle pass more worth it. I think you should change the price of it from 10 dollars to the in game currency of gold. Maybe around 2,000-2,500 gold, that way when I buy the battle pass, if I save my gold I will have enough to get the next one. Now I know you guys want to make money yet take games like Fortnite for example in which when you buy the battle pass you get all that you spent back and some. Overall the gameplay is good yet the way to new cards should be improved.

Fantastic Gameplay Smothered by Grind and Greed
I’ve played Marvel Snap since global launch, and it’s both frustrating and disheartening to see the game languish under a team who just can’t seem to figure out a sustainable business model.
It seems there has never been a successful vision for how card acquisition, player rewards, and monetisation are supposed to intersect.
Adding the token shop as a supposed catch-up mechanic only to gut tokens in the reward track, adding the FOMO-fuelled spotlight gacha system while offering keys (and tokens) in ludicrously priced bundles, releasing an extra card per month to give players less time to save up spotlight keys, only featuring mediocre cards in series drops if they even happen — I could go on.
I agree with the broad sentiment that the game could be more F2P friendly, but I also understand it has to make money. The thing is, I have spent money on this game. I, like many other players, have no issue with spending money on this game. But we’re now at a point where your value for money has never felt more insulting. Unless you spend endless amounts of cash on key/token/credit bundles, you simply won’t keep up with the pace of card releases, or even be able to engage in the predatory loot-box style system at all.

Tone deaf developers and predatory practices.
I’m going to start this review off by saying that I actually enjoy the gameplay and deck building aspect of Snap quite a lot. The main reason I am leaving a 1 star review comes down to the lack of card acquisition for newer players, the lack of duplicate protection in spotlight’s, the predatory and pathetic bundles they offer the shop, and the seemingly tone deaf developers. One example of this is that I am a player who is at CL 13,512 and currently only missing 9 cards in game, and their idea of a “special offer” or “for you” bundle that has been appearing in my shop for 2 weeks is a bundle that has Jean Grey in it. The price of that bundle has varied from $50 all the way to $100, and the hilarious part is that this bundle is still appearing in my special offer shop after the announcement of Jean Grey dropping down to series 3. Also the pricing for series 4&5 cards makes absolutely no sense in this game. Every month they price a series 5 card at $10 which is the season pass, but yet they try to justify trying to get players to spend money on resources that cost way more than that to get other series 5 cards that release throughout the month? I’ve also seen developers saying High Voltage affected the game negatively vs Deadpool’s Diner because of “engagement” when really it’s because people didn’t get frustrated into spending money on High Voltage like they did with Diner.

Grindy, Stingy and unfair, Farewell Marvel Snap.
I have reached infinite every season for 8 months now.
It still has atrocious bugs, like crashing in the middle of games.
The card acquisition is getting worse somehow. The bundles sold are getting meaner. The events are getting more difficult and grindy.
This game just makes me unhappy now. If you get to infinite, you will then see what I mean with the current meta. You can just look up now and see how many new cards are in the top decks now. And how few series drops there are to make accessibility for all players.
And who else knows what goes on in the background. For all we know there could be A.I. Advantaging whales in their draw order.
Done, I quit and the community is a bunch of simp fanboy “creators” who do marketing for them for a minuscule amount of currency.

Great game plagued by greed
I’ve played this game since release and whilst the gameplay mechanics are superb the game is massively let down by poor card acquisition and unimaginable greed on the part of the developers.
They are completely tone deaf and show very little regard, sometimes bordering on contempt, for the players. The in-game store regularly offers a single card (usually lacklustre) plus some currency for $80 or more! $80!!! Their latest event, Deadpool’s Diner, has artwork which actively mocks the concerns of the players and is a pretty toxic event in general as you are constantly bombarded by on-screen prompts to buy more gold whenever you lose your ‘bubs’.
Card acquisition is pretty painful in general but for new players it would be a massive hurdle and they would be forced to compete on an uneven playing field once they reach a certain collection level.
Until the devs change their behaviour and fix the problems plaguing this game I would 100% not recommend this game.

Increasingly Predatory on Loyal Player Base
Impossible and insurmountable task for any player to try to obtain the cards they want, and it’s even worse for newer players. While low tier cards are given early to hook you in, this slows dramatically and is only getting worse over time as the devs allow fewer and fewer new cards to be more easily obtained. After an onslaught of “we hear you” messages from developers, it becomes hard to believe what they say.
At its core it’s a fun game, but if I were a new player, I’d leave before getting into it.

P2W ruined another good game
The gameplay is fun and the pace is great for a quick distraction game, however the card acquisition system is garbage and hinders players abilities to build competitive decks as you increase in level making is hardly achievable to win matches and enjoy the game without spending an insane amount of money. The monetary cost of acquiring cards and in game currency is beyond a joke and is turning existing players away, and has created an insurmountable barrier to entry for potential new players. The developers need to reevaluate numerous aspects of the game to make it more accessible for players to enjoy the game without having to pay excessive amounts of money - not even mentioning the rort that is the collectors tokens, spotlight cache and series drops.
