I attended a silent women's retreat at Mater Dolorosa and a marriage retreat.
When you enter the gate directly into Mater Dolorosa from Sunnyside, yes, the street is called Sunnyside!! you might feel your spirit is getting what feels like a warm embrace, of coming home.
All of the retreats they offer you're bound to find one that is meant for you.
The Chef Fernando not only comes up with amazing meal ideas. He and the wonderful kitchen staff and sous chef's execute them perfectly.
The grounds are not only beautiful, but peaceful.
The rooms you spend time and sleep in have private bathrooms. I just found out the rooms were actually occupied by past Brothers and Priest's when Mater Dolorosa was indeed a Monastery proper.
I can only say I highly suggest coming to Mater Dolorosa for a retreat, either it be a day or weekend.
