I've used this app for over a year and this is the only app that has ever truly helped me. I now can speak to other people, listen, write, and read many things. The app uses various essential sentences that are beneficial to know how to say. I always tell my friends to use this app to learn japanese. Thank you so much YuSpeak, please make more!

Every explanation is incredibly clear and well written, great for learning, especially in tandem with other language learning apps that are less adept in the area.
One gripe I have is the use of a few grammar rules with no explanation such as dropping a letter when conjugating or something along those lines. I’ll have to look them up, but typically these are exceptions to the rule.
The review system could also use some work. I think having access to every learned word as opposed to randomly selected ones would be nice. There just needs to be better review exercises in general that aren’t just flash cards and fill the blank.
Overall, phenomenal app to get you started! Absolutely recommend.

There are learned word/grammar lists in the Practice tab, by which you can practice all the learned words and grammar rules.Personally, I’ve been learning Japanese for over 10 months and I’ve been trying to learn Chinese and Korean along with it. problem, though I never really understood how to learn Korean, but this app made a 10 times easier the exclamations are nice and easy to understand and if you’re learning Japanese along with it, you can cycle it through the different languages make sure you understand both languages the same time.

The only thing is that I, trying to learn ALL the characters in Japanese to learn the words better. It could already be in the app but I finished learning all the other characters and still have not learned the characters of meaning. Which I’m already seeing in some of the words. It’s so beginner friendly and I love the little story simulation things at the end of each lesson. It literally has everything you need, I also love how the app looks in general (in terms of design) and I don’t feel bored learning at all. I wish I found this app sooner.

I’ve been using this alongside Rosetta Stone for a few weeks now and it’s the perfect companion. This is where I’m learning reading, writing, grammar, and formalities. I think it’s sinking in much quicker by using both apps.

I really love the app - it has taught me more and helped me have a deeper understanding than any of the methods I have been using for over a year now
However apparently for the last two weeks I wasn't formally signed into an account, so I made one - but upon doing so lost two weeks of daily learning and had to start all over again
This was very hurtful and I don't know what to do about it

Feel free to drop us an email at support@yuspeak.com, and any problem usually gets resolved within 24 hours.Since Duolingo laid off a bunch of workers in favor of AI, I’ve been looking for Alternatives for learning Japanese and this has been working out very well so far~ Very similar set up to Duo with the lessons and, unlike Duo, explanations for what you’re learning as it’s taught. Very cute mascot characters (and some times recognizable but probably copyrighted characters;;) that just cheer you on and aren’t the Main Focus like Duo.

I wanted to learn Japanese because I watch a lot of anime, and it tells me the characters, how to write it, the meanings, and how to pronounce it all in one. I also love the conversations with the anime characters!
