  • It’s okay

The app is easy to use, but it still needs more work. My tiger’s eye was being identified as a jasper and my jasper was unidentifiable. So makes me feel like this isn’t reliable for stones I’m not sure about.

It is very inaccurate. I was using crystals i already knew to see if it was able to name them, or be close enough, and it was getting them wrong. It was also unable to names shaped crystals (as in crystals formed into a smoother shape). Then, you can not scan more than 3 crystals at a time unless you’re paying 5.99 a month. Definitely a waste, especially considering the incorrect crystal matches.

  • Make sure you try it first!!

    1. Every identification had Diamond as an option. You know good and well that’s not even close to the case. That’s false advertising. 2. The app had a really hard time focusing on my stones - And I have a brand new iPhone 15. So the issue is not with my camera. 3. About 30% of the time I got a message “Hmmm…This doesn’t look like a stone.” Yet I could change nothing - hit retry - and it made an identification. 4. Many of the identified stones had a message that they were waiting for more data. 5. Unfortunately for me the app is more frustrating than helpful.

  • I’m Sorry!

I know it’s most likely me! But all I kept getting was the screen with the camera and I take the picture sometimes it got it right sometimes it didn’t. The only time it got it right was when it was Quartz! So I didn’t find the app to be as diverse as I thought it was and I’m quite sure I’m using it wrong. I couldn’t find any instructions or directions anywhere to help me so I went ahead and canceled my free trial. I’m sorry it looks like such a great app, but I know my brain doesn’t work very well anymore and I’m having trouble! But thank you for letting me give it a shot.
    Sincerely,

  • Garbage

I just wanted to identify some healing stones I use for spiritual and mediation purposes. I always think I’ll remember what they are and I never do. I wasn’t having much luck with google lens, so I thought I’d try this. I selected 3 day free trial and then was charged $8.67.

The first rock I tried is dark gray and marbley, and it said it was a diamond. The second is peacock ore or chalcopyrite and it said it didn’t look like a rock.

Maybe it needs natural light to work properly, but this is not giving me what I needed and I certainly don’t want to pay for it!

  • Can’t find what the rocks are, generally useless

So, on multiple occasions, I enter a rock photo even when I knew what the rock was. Then this rock id thing says, Emerald, and guess what, the rock was literally black and white. Not an emerald. This kept happening. And then there is the stupid, “you can only take 3 picks a day unless you get a membership” thing. So I was trying to figure something out real quick for a friend, and it’s like, “oh no you must have reached you shots limit. And there is basically nothing to do on the app, it misidentifies rocks and never once has gotten my rock right. I say don’t get this, it is free sure but all it does is take up space and fails to id rocks.

  • Not very helpful for a weekly fee

My daughter was doing a Jr. High project on rocks. I had a big box of rocks from my youth. I knew what a few were but wanted help identifying the others. It could only identify granite. It wasn’t worth keeping if it was free let alone at $5/week. Don’t buy this.

  • Worst app ever!!!

I put a Tiger’s Eye in front of the camera and the result said it was Gold! Then a second attempt I put a Black Obsidian in front of the camera and the result said Diamond! WHAT A JOKE! Not only that, the app asks “did we get it right?” If you say no, they tell you to put the right name of the rock for them, so basically we are doing their job! RUN AWAY FROM THIS!
