We are committed to making our app accessible. Earlier this year, we announced a host of changes to make our app accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. With feedback from thousands of disabled users, we are now pushing tweaks and optimisation to strengthen accessibility further. Here's what we have in store: • Improved interaction with error toasts, loaders, and warnings, ensuring better communication with screen readers. • Better screen reader navigation: Enhanced screen reader compatibility for visuals in story pages and critical functions on podcast player functions: you can now adjust speed, sleep timer, and timestamp using up and down gestures. • Keyboard input: The keyboard now adapts to email and phone inputs, ensuring the right keyboard appears for each screen • CarPlay: Advanced car play support for a seamless podcast experience in your car and while taking calls

- Podcast player optimisation and enhancements - NewsAble: We have made big changes to make our app accessible. News is a public interest product and everyone should have access to it, without any barriers. Key features and changes include: • Talkback and Voice Over Support: Compatibility with screen readers to help visually impaired users navigate the app • Voice Search: Search by speaking with just a tap, with filters for authors, sections, and tags • Transcripts, Read Aloud, and Subtitles: An in-built, one-click transcript for all podcasts, and read-aloud functionality for text stories. Plus, subtitles in videos • Dyslexia Font and Motion Control: Dyslexia font to make text more readable for Dyslexic users, and motion control to help users with ADHD • Reader Mode: A clean reading format, without any distractions in the form of banners, widgets, and pop-ups • Colour Filters and Contrast: Colour themes for those with color blindness, alongside a dark mode and light mode.
