  • Has potential, but launched too soon

This app has great potential for athletes that want to monitor both the amount and timing of carb intake to maximize their performance. Unfortunately though the app has serious flaws at this point that need to be addressed. The integration with TrainingPeaks is broken, although the developer notes it is being addressed. While the app is not intended to be a calorie tracker, it falls into that category by necessity, and lacks many features that are standard on other calorie counting apps such as favorite foods and meals. These features are “coming soon” in the app, but should have been fully implemented on launch, especially given the comparatively steep subscription price.

  • I have sent my feedback to your email info@hexis

Please respond to my email and the messages I dropped to your instagram page. I have zero feedback about this. Just refund me. Thank you
  • New food log

This app has a lot of good aspects to it, however, the latest food log update is truly awful. The update feels rushed and a lot of the features are currently unavailable. You cannot log your own ingredients so have to rely on what feels like largely American brands. The scan option is very inaccurate too. The foods added do not have consistent measurement options. It feels like the app has taken a backwards step.

  • World class performance nutrition in an app

Hexis syncs with Training Peaks to see all my upcoming workouts and provides me with the nutrition guidance in order to hit all my goals. It’s super easy to use, absolutely love it!
  • Great idea but App doesn’t work

The idea is good and worked for the first day, although froze a few times. Now not showing me any information and isn’t working at all. Probably best not waste you money.
  • Game Changer

Great for personalised nutrition planning! TrainingPeaks integration makes a massive difference and very simple to use.

    Developer Response

We appreciate the kind words thenutritionisr and are super pumped to hear that Hexis is helping optimise your nutrition 🚀
  • Don’t waste your money

What’s promised and what’s delivered are 2 very different experiences.
  • Brilliant

This app has given me back structure. It has made aware of what high/medium and low carb is.

    Really enjoying navigating this resource.
  • Has tons of potential…

    …But not quite there yet.

It does look pretty nice, but it‘s slightly clunky to use, a little laggy, and a bit buggy. For example, I have to quit the app to get Live Energy to update to the current time.

Integration with Apple Health is a big step forwards. But it would be great to have integration directly with Garmin. Maybe syncing with a food tracker like MyFitnessPal, because food tracking in Hexis is pretty painful at the moment. Also, in-app recipes would be amazing…

Some way to export data or take a deeper dive into the data outside of the app (as with Garmin Connect) would be much appreciated and I feel should be a given considering subscription price.

The tech and thinking underpinning the app is terrific, though. So hopefully Hexis will continue to develop and improve as time goes on.

  • Promising future but needs work.

I really like the idea of this app, as compared to other nutrition apps it provides guidance and takes out a lot of the personal work on the best fuelling strategy.

However, understandably with it being a new product, there is a good bit of work to do yet to get it up to scratch. My feedback after a couple of week’s use is as follows, and in order of priority (from my perspective):

Provide nutrition requirements for exercise (eg for a moderate 4 hour bike ride aim for 1g/kg/hour) currently the in-exercise fuelling requirements seem to just be accounted for in the surrounding meals.
Provide more granular nutrition rather than 4/5 meals - I tend to spread my snacks across the day rather than at distinct points and this currently makes the live energy graph irrelevant.
Provide quick & easy meal/snack ideas - sometimes the target calories/carb ratios feel difficult to achieve, so in all examples would help give an idea of what to eat to achieve. A lot of recipes provide require a lot of preparation (baking, etc).
Fix bugs (ie live energy chart is never at current time).
Fix Apple health integration and add more integrations (TrainingPeaks for workout schedule, Fitbit, etc).
Make frequently food entries also the frequent quantity.
