Too Many Advertisements

This app has internal advertisements everywhere you look when attempting to read scripture. It’s ridiculous. Then there is an advertisement for a Bible game in the application that leads/ entices you to gamble! Wow! Diabolical! Horrible application to read the Bible!

Perfect Word of God. No other versions come close

The Bible for Biblical Scholars and Apologists

Wonderful Bible app. I use it daily along with other versions to get the most accurate interpretation of the scriptures. This version of the Bible has everything included even the lost books left out of the Canon. I recommend this app to all believers.

History of the KJV

The KJV is according original King James Bible that was published in the year 1611. The problem is that the European church had already taken some liberties with Scripture and had made a few changes to reflect what they wanted to say. Two of those changes were made in the Book of Job. At Job chapter 24 verse 1 in today’s King James Version of the Holy Bible it says: “Why, seeing times are not hidden from the Almighty, do they that know him not see his dayes?” A couple of commas were left out that changed the meaning of that passage from those that do not know God to those that do know God. Here is the original passage from the 1611 King James Version of the Holy Bible: “Why, seeing Times are not hidden from the Almightie, doe they, that know him not, see his dayes?” There is a vast difference between knowing and not knowing God!

FAQ

What is the 1611 King James Bible?

The 1611 King James Bible is the original version of the King James Bible, published in 1611. It features Early Modern English and includes the Apocrypha, which has been removed from many later printings. This version preserves the language and spellings closer to its historical roots.

Does this app require an internet connection?

No, this app does not require an internet connection to use. You can access the full text of the 1611 King James Bible and its Apocrypha at any time, offline.

What is the difference between this and modern KJV Bibles?

Modern King James Bibles are often revisions, such as the 1769 Baskerville Birmingham revision, with updated spellings and removed books. The 1611 version retains the original Jacobean spellings and includes fourteen books plus prefatory features that were removed from later editions.

What are some examples of the historical spelling differences?

The 1611 KJV uses older English spellings and grammar. For example, 'u' was often used for 'v' (e.g., 'loued' for 'loved'), 'v' for 'u' (e.g., 'vnto' for 'unto'), and 'I' for 'J' (e.g., 'Iesus' for 'Jesus'). It also uses the 'thorn' character, represented by 'y' with an 'e' above it, meaning 'the'.
