Description of MementoMori

“All roads lead to our ‘Goodbye.’” Boasting an epic soundtrack that can turn the world of gaming on its head, and some of the most stunning designs ever seen in a game, Bank of Innovation’s newest title, MementoMori, is finally here! Songs performed by many renowned artists enhance the rich world of MementoMori. *We recommend playing while wearing earphones or headphones. ◆ STORY: A tale of “justice” woven by girls whose fragile hearts verge on shattering... There are girls who many call “witches.” Although they themselves are ordinary, they can wield slightly extraordinary powers. However, when calamity spreads throughout the land, witches begin to be feared and detested. Before long, the Church of Longinus commenced what would be known as “The Witch Hunt.” “Witches are to blame for this calamity. If we kill them, then the calamity will vanish along with them!” Witches are executed one by one. But one day, as madness seizes control of the world, it is suddenly overrun by “Curses.” A country incinerated by hellfire. A kingdom consumed by crystals. An empire purged by the Tree of Life. Such are the woeful desires of those who are called “Witches of Qlipha.” Without any means to defend themselves, nation after nation falls into ruin, until finally— The fractured land is sent adrift high into the sky. Meanwhile, the people have yet to take notice. From within these girls cursed to be witches, there emanates glimmers of hope. In order to save their decimated world, these girls set forth liberating the land from darkness. For they believe that it is the right thing to do... ◆ GAME: ・Play utilizing both easy-to-use full auto battles and high-level strategy! ・Behold stunning action-packed battles animated using Live2D! ・Harness the “Idle System” to gradually get stronger as the girls fight even while you’re away! ・Unlock tons of content as you advance the story! ・Discover infinite strategic possibilities by combining your wit with the girls’ magical powers! ・Enhance gear to precisely influence how the girls grow stronger! ・Communicate with your friends as you form the most powerful guild in the land! ◆ SOUND: The girls of MementoMori are burdened with cruel pasts and inevitable fates. ・Cry to “Laments,” which sing each girl’s emotions to life. ・Play accompanied with a high-quality soundtrack not bound to the limits of game music. • Classiest, prettiest Gacha out there

What sets this game apart from a sea of Gacha games is the art. Whether it’s the world map you’re traveling on to the girls themselves, it all looks so much classier than the usual Gacha fair. While most Live2D is just an excuse for jiggle physics, these characters look like watercolor paintings come to life.

This unique art style is accompanied by one of the best soundtracks in mobile gaming period. They even have English versions of the songs that are actually very good but you can switch the spoken language to original JP to hear the original music too. It’s mainly a mix of either J-Pop/J-Rock with European Folk music/Classical instruments. The battle themes (one for normal battles and one for Bosses) feature no lyrics but are these sweeping piano, string and wind instrumental pieces that work very well.

This is an Idle type rpg so there’s no interaction from the player. This is a little disappointing, as is the lack of interaction with your gathered Witches. These girls need HUGS. Mostly they just talk to you in a one sided manner about tragic tales of abuse and persecution. The power of the games art comes into play here, going well with the somber and tragic themes at play.

That said if I could, I’d wish to have the option at some point to more directly interact with the characters. It’s hard to hear some of these stories and not be able to tell them it’s going to be alright now.
  • Good and chill

This game is GOOD. Don’t get me wrong, it is definitely a pay to win game, with overall little to no user engagement in the play through itself. Pretty much all the fights i just skip through with little to no attention just waiting for the outcome BUT despite all this, it is still a very enjoyable game. The character designs are splendid, you can tell they put time and effort into the art direction of the game and the music is also great. The dailies are easy to do and pulls are generally easy to obtain. Progression in the game stagnates after awhile and gives you a reason to upgrade your characters and gear. Of course, this benefits whales more since they have the means to easily upgrade their characters but even as a free to play i don’t mind grinding a week or two to clear a level/floor. Maybe that’s because i play on and off though. But i feel like that’s the best way to approach the game. A chill game where you get on every couple days in your downtime and clear content. No twenty minutes to clear dailies or constant domain clearing for artifacts and rolls. Just a chill game with beautiful art and music. Love it.
  • Pretty but Confusing

This game is undoubtedly gorgeous, its art style is INCREDIBLE and its music is as well. I, personally, do not like the gameplay at all. It's confusing and the story feels very weird. There's some girls who are being hunted in a "witch hunt" by the "church of Longinus", but nothing is explained! Most gacha fighting games that I've played like Food Fantasy and Reverse: 1999 have icons during fights, and while those aren't AFK games, it's certainly nice to see what's happening. This game, instead of characters, uses the names of characters off to the sides in order to show who's doing what. Also, I have no idea what's happening. The characters are just given to you in the first four levels, and while this is an AFKRPG, you do nothing at all in levels. You watch characters' names pop out while the same art you've seen of the characters several times moves a little bit. There is exactly one drawing of every character in this game. They put NOTHING into this.

TLDR: It's not worth it to get this. Get a better Gacha RPG Game with AFK features. The art makes up for nothing.
