I received a gift of a certain dollar amount with Snack Magic. This is the second time a thoughtful employer offered me this gift. I made an account last year, figured out the order, and received what I thought were small, overpriced snacks. This time around, I couldn’t log into Snack Magic; they now are under a different company called Stadium. Stadium wouldn’t accept my login from Snack Magic. I tried to create a Stadium account but since I already had a Snack Magic account, it wouldn’t allow me to set up another account with Stadium using my primary email. So I set up the account using another email address and then I was blocked from accessing my gift because that was tagged to my primary email. Chat with customer support; they reset the account. Finally, I’m in, my cart is loaded, and I was about $12 over. I planned to pay the difference using Apple Pay but on the checkout page, it said I owed $731. Chat again. Advised to log out and log back in, and they sent instructions for repopulating my cart. Still charging me $731 instead of $12. Chat again. This time I was told they somehow had the wrong country code so it wasn’t USD I would be charged but some other currency. Rep assured that if I chatted my credit card information, they would finish it for me. No thanks. Finally had to remove items from the cart and leave a small balance. The good part is that the agent was timely and friendly. The bad news is that it takes more time to order through them than to go to the grocery store, and the snacks are tiny and overpriced. Add to that the failed technology, the potential for financial fraud, and this will be an app I delete and a service I advise against using.
